Just because nVidia says something doesn't make it false.
"Insinuating" that people would like something to be priced lower than it is... How sinister.![]()
Agreed. I also run some compute stuff like blastincap so GTX670/680 isn't appealing for me. However, I still haven't pulled the trigger since I see 5 negative reviews for that Sapphire card on just 1 page. The Asus DCU cards also have a lot of negative reviews. The reference 7970s are $450+ and Accelero Extreme is > $60, which I don't think is fair since Gigabyte GTX670 is $400 for similar gaming performance. It's like AMD is charging $100 more for double precision compute (sneaky). I hope HD8000 series comes out Q1 2013.![]()
True but it's a Very nice HDMI cable. Not cheap either. I wanted a GTX 680 2 weeks ago and was tired of waiting so I snagged a Pny GTX 680 and paid a premium ($579 less $30 MIR). Sure you can find one cheaper but it came, is installed and running like a champ. I sent the HDMI to my son-in-law who was going to spend $$$ to buy one to hook his I-PAD2 to his TV etc. The HDMI is a 16 foot PNY. Price those suckers! You are paying for the HDMI cable lol.

Great post! Hit the nail on the head. Why doesn't the anonomous poster "man up" and disclose their identity?I hope you are joking.
Just because some random anonymous source that does not release their name, qualifications, or any citation says something doesn't make it true...
Credibility is important - you should examine it when you are considering rumors, research, or any "facts" on the internet. I wish everyone on facebook would learn this too.

When it comes to these types of issues, Nvidia has none. Need I remind people that bumpgate was never resolved by Nvidia, they replaced bad parts with bad parts that failed again in exactly the same way. Like I said, this may turn out to be nothing, but to trust anything Nvidia says on the subject is foolhardy.Credibility is important -

+1. Exactly, they have zero credibility in my eyes and that's not because of the issue but far more how they handled it (or didn't). And most of those customers never got proper redress - if they were luck they might have got a $300 laptop for their broken $1500 one.
Huh?And yet you sit here and call us "fools" to take Nvidia's word on a "subject" that has no merit to begin with. Do.. you.. see.. the.. irony..... AnandthenMan......?

Clearly you don't want to discuss this with maturity, just take pot shots instead. :thumbsdown:No. No irony at all. Not the least bit detectable. My bad.
This thread still running? Talk about beating a dead horse.
I love how a few of EVGAs SC cards turned into every single Kepler card.
Must be a slow news day.
Huh?There is no irony here, just the cold hard facts, which are terribly inconvenient for you. Nvidia screwed up, which I accept it happens. But they never made right by their customers, generally when a company is told to replace defective products, they do so with a non defective replacement. That never happened. Now for someone that gets free hardware, I suppose these types of issues don't matter. But for those that got screwed out of thousand of dollars, it matters quite a lot. Nvidia has no credibility surrounding defective chips, that is the point, so when they say there is no problem, it means nothing. Zip.
As for Toyota, they went the extra mile and recalled millions of cars which cost them billions, not to mention the reputation hit they took. In the end no fault was ever found. How is that even remotely comparable to Nvidia is beyond me, if Toyota acted like Nvidia, they would have replaced defective ECU's or some other part with the exact same defective part!
"EVGA has isolated this problem to an early batch of GTX 670 Superclock cards (P/N: 02G-P3-2672-KR) that were not properly screened during QA/QC procedure. We have already been working with our partners to retest this particular batch. In the meantime, our R&D has also done numerous tests, burn in and component quality verification to confirm that the EVGA GTX 670 Superclock is a well designed product."
"If any of your users are experiencing issues with their EVGA GTX 670 Superclock boards, please ask them to email Jacob Freeman [mailto link], and he will assist in getting them setup with an RMA cross shipment along with EVGA upgrading them to the GTX 670 FTW version (P/N: 02G-P3-2685-KR) for the inconvenience of this."
I wonder how many actually bothered to read the actual statement:
So its a few EVGA GTX 670 SC editions. And EVGA shows the good spirit and freely upgrade people thats affected to EVGA GTX 670 FTW.
Now where did all the conspiracy start?

Now where did all the conspiracy start? Maybe not that many adsclicks and rage in that?
