LOL at the 1080Ti in the 2060 level. It's a shame the last good AMD high end was the 290X in freaking 2013 or I would have diched ngreedia in a heart beat but since Maxwell AMD is 2 years behind in performance on the top.

2 years to match/beat the 980Ti with Vega, 2 years to match 1080Ti with Vega 20 and by the time the high end Navi is here it will be almost 2 years of the 2080Ti. The sad part it is that maybe Nvidia will have the 3080Ti at $1500 that AMD will take another 2 years to match.

:(

Although it's essentially off topic, I will comment on rdr2 in the frame of this thread's Navi gpu performance. Navi sure performs well compared to it's competition that is. very glad to see a <400€ euro card can run it well at 1080 where I still game at.

However we still know very little. There is a mention in the original article, that moving a slider to the performance setting, essentially doubles the frame rate. We need to know what this does to image quality, as well as what settings correspond to the consoles image quality.

Heck if the game looks great at medium, who cares.

What worries me mostly, is that the 1070 is slower than the 580? I mean what the...? Is Nvidia getting lazy or the driver is not up to date yet for pascal?

Hmm yikes. I guess I may be skipping this game at launch.

The high prices of the 2xxx RTX make it even more likely that nVidia would pull that stunt this time, because RT alone simply isn't the driver it needs to be for them at this point.

Better, but you still need at least a 1080Ti to run it at 1080p 60fps with eye candy. No thanks.

But doesn't Vulkan offer better CPU utilisation though?

Always better to have more CPU time free for other things.

Previous post was completely incorrect. I compared the wrong charts.
I can’t edit the post. “We ran into a problem” each time.

Hardware Unboxed ran actual game play for their benchmark and they said that the Vulkan path suffers from very noticeable stuttering in the actual game which is why they used DX12 in their benchmarks.

Darn but that’s what expected. I’ve yet to play a game that runs better on Vulcan.
I really want Vulcan to workout but it’s been so many years and so little progress.

Ive tried 3 or 4 games in Vulcan always one or more of the following
Noticeably slower
Weird graphics glitches that cannot be ignored
Unpredictable slowdowns

The Gamers Nexus video tested at different video settings and found that "Medium" (where every setting was set to medium) wasn't that good looking and that "High" was as low as you'd want to go.

The 5700 and 5700XT performed excellently in the tests barely behind the $100 more 2070S.

Too bad it's the best AMD has as 5800/5800XT might have topped the charts.

Looks like a good card for that segment. Although I had to chuckle at World of Warcraft being an eSport :p

It looks like it performs about the same as the RX 570. You can get a 570 for about $140 these days so assuming the performance is equivalent then $150 should be the highest they charge.

Also, given the total lack of rumors concerning the 5500 XT I think we can assume it will not be out in time for Black Friday. Pity, that means i'm getting the 1660 Super unless I can find a RX 5700 or RTX 2060 for a really, really good price.

135 FPS in 1080p, Epic Settings is not possible even with GTX 1060. With Zen 2 CPUs, in the same settings GTX 1660 Ti averages 140 FPS, and GTX 1660(standard version with GDDR5) averages 125 FPS. RX 5500 will be much closer to GTX 1660 Ti than people think.
