rubik's cube

I just learned yesterday and I know 1 complete set of algorithms and it still takes me about 3-5 minutes.

i hate the blasted things. so there are algorithms to doing it? something math-like or something? everyone I know who can do them is great with math. me, I'm decent at math but without knowing any mathematical tricks, i look like a fool merely twisting the different faces around, in hopes of something making my efforts worthwhile. lol

I saw a video online (maybe break.com) of a kid that solved 2 rubik's cubes simultaneously (each with one hand) in around a minute or so. Crazy

I had my average down under 1 minute when I practiced it in high school.

Just tried it...2 minutes with a few mistakes (yes, I have one in my desk).

I used to be able to solve them in 2-3 min.

Last time I tried, I couldn't remember how to complete it... I did manage to get the top and middle rows though.

About 60-90 seconds.

To those who can't do it, think of it like a really long complicated math problem--whose solution you know and memorize, but each time you're doing it over and over again with different variables. The process is the same, but obviously the pieces are in different places.

On a related note, anyone solve the Bedlam Egglam Cube? This annoyed me for a week, took me 50 tries and I finally solved it. I wrote out a solution binding 12 of the 13 blocks so that if someone disassembles it...

I was honestly mever able to solve one. Over my entire life, I've probably spent less than 2hrs on the thing, but never was able to solve it.
