Hey guys, I'm starving for a good RPG to play. I don't care about the graphics or any of that stuff, it just has to be a good rpg.

Only 2 conditions:

1.) I haven't already played it
KOTOR 1 & 2
Baldur's Gate 1 & 2
Fallout 1 & 2
Arcanum
Any of the final fantasies
Morrowind
Neverwinter Nights

2.) It isn't a clickfest hack&slash, its an actual rpg, which means no
Diablo anything
Dungeon Siege
That new bard's tale

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated guys, I'm running dry on the RPG pool these days

another vote for Xenogears (amazing storyline). also Deus Ex (1st one)
 
How about all of the free user modules for Neverwinter?

Sands of Time (for level 25 character) is pretty good, I'm playing it now

Return to Ravenloft (level 1) is also good though a little short, and there will be a continuation / sequel (just about to enter beta testing).

Jagged Alliance 2 has strong RPG elements though it's closer to X-Com than Planescape Torment.

Hmm, Planescape isn't on your already played list!?
 
Planescape, Arx Fatalis, System Shock 1 and 2, Might & Magic 6, 7, 8, 9.

I guess I should mention the Gothic series as well, though I do not consider them RPGs. More like adventure games with really, really bad controls and voice acting.
 
Well the BEST rpg imo is Lineage 2. yeah u gotta pay for it BUT!!!. u can just dl the game from there site and then search on google for private servers. that are not buggy and r like official servers. Lineage 2 is very addicting... litterally lol, it took over my EX GF's life swear. but fun a$$ game i tell ya.
 
Deus Ex 1 and any of the Baldurs Gates.

I am on BGII right now and loving it. Have played completely through 3 times now and it always seems interesting.
Morrowind is also good. Its freaking huge and lots of fun.

I am of the opionion that the newer Final Fantasy games are more like the interactive movies of the late DOS/early Win95 days.
 
You HAVE TO pick up Guild Wars then. Yeah it is similar to Diablo 2, but not a click-fest at all. In fact, if you start clicking several times on the same target it will tell you it's not necessary. I guess you could say the fighting is like NWN but maybe a little faster (although I hardly played NWN). It's not an MMORPG either, but the towns are large to meet up with smaller parties to quest in. The graphics are awesome and it seems very polished.
 
You've played all the top brass RPGs, except two. Two that others have mentioned several times.

Xenogears
Deus Ex

PLAY THESE TWO GAMES IMMEDIATELY!
 
thanks guys, playing xenogears now. I heard planescape was like BG, only a little too much writing. I guess I might pick it up if I get really bored.

i wonder how the new xenosaga's are. i loved xenogears and wonder how good those are. havent played anRPG since Final Fantasy X

It is fine if you don't go in expecting Xenogears. If you've read any reviews for it, believe me that they're not kidding around when they say you'll spend more time watching cutscenes than actually playing. If you're like me - a fan of console RPGs but not of anime films/serials - you probably won't enjoy Xenosaga.

i generally like rpgs and while i liked deus ex quite a bit, by the end i just felt compelled to finish it rather than wanting to.

Yes, I've played FF7, its one of my top 3 fav RPG's (along with Fallout and BG). And ok, I def. won't play runescape. 🙂 :thumbsup:
