... i don't see how this is making fun of someones "accent." this isn't even anywhere close to a chinese accent. what she said was more akin to what was said to us asian minorities in elementary school. and even those kids grew out of it. let's put it this way. if a chinese person said what rosie said, exactly the same way, it wouldn't be accepted by the chinese community either.

I could see where an asian person would be offended. Where I live, american-asians get that "ching chong" crap ALL the time, no matter their country. They could be Japanese, which sounds no where near 'ching chong', but it doesn't matter to most.
American-asians are rare where I live, so they have to put up with a lot of crap.
*EDIT* To put the remark in perspective for me, it would be similiar to when people start donning a 'southern' accent and throwing slang like ain't and other silly words at me when they here I'm from Louisiana.
It wouldn't piss me off that much, but hearing it repeatedly would.

I don't think it's racist....I DO however think it's offensive, though I'm not offended by it (well, cause i'm white)...but given my personality, I think I wouldn't be offended anyway if I were of chinese origin.
