So they would like TA to clean up their spot 🙂
DPC will do the same for TA so they feel right at home:wine:
Remember, you don' t have much time to do so :clock:

(Welcome to the AnandTech forums!)

Or McDonalds need to start selling more burgers

Edit: Dammit, come on McDonalds, a bit more advertising here would help 😀 😀
And less of the salads

🙂 Reinstall did the trick. 2500 barton added . Easy as pie. Thanks for the response. The cows may be looking for payback in response to what we did to them a few years ago on the D2OL project. We chased their butts for #1 through the holidays finally overtaking them over the new year. I think this was one of team Anandtech`s greatest achievements. I really enjoyed that.

Ok, you know my feelings about that.....

Bty Sid the only reason you're gaining on me now is I'm having HD problems on one of the two rigs I have running Rosetta now.
😛

Roughly twenty days until the Captains of the fleets start the change over from Seti and FaD to Rosetta. You can think of the two rigs running it now as scout ships.

There might be another reason I'm gaining on ya a little bit.....

I just yanked the AXP Barton guts out of one of my computers and replaced them with the guts of my brandy new X2 😛

besides.... I've got a good ship leading the way... long live the RA!

On my latest install I rebooted after boinc install. No problem worked fine. Had comunication error before reboot. 2400 MP single added.

Nice rig I hear those can do close to a 1000 points a day
Wonder how that will match up again Mike's 2,8 dual xeon Battleship ?
The one I'm having HD problems with is a 3 gig P4 with HT.

Tomorrow will be the first full day for it.

I've been playing with it so much (new windows install/apps setup/benchies/trying my best to break it..... in.

I'm pitching in on the TAS/Folders race for December, so I'll bringing (what little I have) all my stuff on board just about the same time the RA is.

Outstanding Ken... I'm glad you are going to fold Rosetta!

Dual xeons don't even come close to x2's...

I have a dual xeon running at 3.0 Ghz which puts out roughly 550 per day, compared to my dual core opteron 165@ 2.6 which does ~ 1150. All of my x2's will put out roughly 1000 per day. 7 of them doing half of my daily total!!

Bok 🙂

I could only afford the 3800+ and it's not OC'd until I can come up with the $$ for a decent HSF... which comes after I get the $$ to put my second upgrade in place (X2 for a Barton), which comes after I scrounge up the $$ to put the 2 bartons back in service....

LOL I love this hobby!

-Sid

can I really expect a 3800+ to approach 1000 credits in a day? (each barton got ~300)

Sure, with the optimized client. I'm using the standard heatsink's on my x2's. They have all overclocked to at least 2.4Ghz without any trouble at all.

4 3800+'s, 1 4200+ and the opty 165, with an opty 170 on it's way 🙂

Sounds GREAT!

I am on the 5.3.1 client (shhhhh... don't tell  )

Sounds like maybe I can take a shortcut and beg you for your bios settings.

I can adjust FSB (I assume this is the same thing as LDT on the DFI boards) and I can adjust memory (200, 166, etc...) and I can adjust HT multiplier and CPU multiplier (10 or less)

I read the overclocking toutorial thread and I think I understand it (assuming my "maximum memory speed adjustment" is the divider they talk about and FSB is the same thing as LDT.

my motherboard is the MSI K8N NEO2 -F

TIA

-Sid

PS: Right now I am running at Tcore ~57, but the Artic Silver 3 hasn't had time to "cure" so assume in a couple days or so I'll be around 55 as is.

Not to kill your good mood Sid, but my X2 3800+ OCed to 2,4 GHz "only" has a RAC of 620 after a month of 24/7 R@H. I use the standard clients though.

Acutally, that sounds a lot more like what I am seeing so far. Kind of hard to tell because I am fiddling with stuff so much today.

Thanks BMC
(you actually made me feel better)

I'm afraid that won't help 😀

You know it's quite impossible to stop a stampeding herd, and that's what quite a few of us already are talking about

But you can always try 😀
It will not hurt the project 😎

Come on in Geoff, the water's fine
there's a few TeAmmates waiting to welcome you 😀 😀

Mab58, I'm one of the cows here at TA and if you talk about a stampeed, then you leave nothing to the TA cows but to do some sneaky "tip the cow" attacks on DPC! 😉

Mab58,
Just noticed you're a new member,
Many welcomes to the mad-house 😀 😀 :wine:

Edit:
PS;
I'm not a cow,
I'm a Human Being 😀 😀 😀

Ahhhh, cow tipping

We sing songs about it here!

Rare for me please.... I like a little Moo with my potatoes!

I haven't got an MSI (3 Asus, 2 Epox and one DFI) but as for BIOS settings, drop the memory multiplier down (assuming PC3200 here) to 166/333 and then increase FSB. Do a search for clockgen and install that, it allows you to increase FSB from within windows (assuming windows here). AS you increase FSB, the memory clock will increase too to get back close to 200, otherwise the memory would limit you. I'd also drop HTT down to 3x. Mind 57C sounds a bit high. My opteron 165@2.6 is only at 47C under load, with AS5 on.

Trux clients are pretty good, if you are using 5.3.1 I'm guessing that's what these are.

Hope that helps.
