Something does not seem right at all with that score. You have a dual core cpu running at 1.78ghz and didn't crack 3,100 in quadrant? My my touch 4g has a single core and I just got 3,014. Just goes to show ya how screwy quadrant is lol

Now that the 4.0.4 release of Android 4.x has been added to the Android Source Code, developers are compiling builds of Android using that version. 'ROM' probably isn't the best term these days, its a hold over from much much older devices.

Ok. Thanks. I was like wtf is a 4.0.4 ROM. A ROM usually refers to a custom build that goes on.rooted phones. They have names like Cyanogen Mod and Clockwork. Standard Android is called by the Google name, like ICS 4.0.4. For me at least. It's updated OTA and not downloaded, so why call it a ROM? It's just not the same thing.

Any GPS fixes in there? My Nexus tends to reboot when using Navigation. Its my only real complaint with the phone.

GPS has been rock solid for me from day one even when I was running 4.0.1. It's the first thing I tested on this phone since I upgraded from Vibrant with broken GPS. I haven't had single random reboot. Sounds like you might have faulty hardware.

Cm9/aokp are not themes.

I know. I have great deal of respect for CM team since they build from ground up. I'm also fan of Roman/aokp as I'm still running his Trigger rom on the Vibrant. I'm just tired of kiddies proclaiming this/that rom is the greatest ever and stock is terrible when most are nothing more than ugly skinned stock rom with deleted bloatware and transition animation sped up.

Your thread is entitled "4.0.4 ROMS are out." I am asking you, WHAT is a 4.0.4 ROM.

I hope that makes sense, because I would have no idea how to explain it more clearly.

Thanks
4.0.4 roms are all over rootzwiki, pretty much all of them have it

I know that AOKP B29 has it
Gummy has a test build
RR has one too
everyone has one

Roms are what CM is.
Since custom Roms arent standard android, theyre just called roms
i dont know how to explain it

okay, my title, 4.0.4 roms. means, roms using 4.0.4

maybe my lingo is too rootzwiki-like

Ah you mean the "winzip developers", yes they are a joke. They take someones rom, add some apps, add someones theme, zip it up and ask for donations, gotta love them.

Some of the best ROMs are not a lot more than that.

AOSP ROMs can be great but TBH they were pretty shabby on the SGS2, modded stock ROMs were better.

I'm using ice cold insomnia right now, so far every ics rom I have tried has some sort of keyboard lag and it drives me crazy.

If I over clock it goes away but then my battery life goes down the drain too.

just updated the ROM on my phone to a 4.0.4 build. it seems a tad bit more responsive, but I haven't noticed anything significantly different.

is there a stable (relatively) 4.0.4 ROM out for the HP touchpad?

I've been running 4.0.4 on my SGS2 for a few days now - AOKP build 29, ported to the i777 with some specific kernel fixes. It's overall very nice. Good on battery, especially with the screen off, much better than the Samsung builds were.

GPS takes a little while to lock, but hopefully that gets fixed.
