Rookie of the year?

Nick Swisher (Oak) - .254 16 HR 57 RBI
Dan Johnson (Oak) - .321 10 HR 31 RBI
Huston Street (Oak) - 1.31 ERA, 13 SV .181 Opponent Batting Average

I assume that you're talking about the AL, in which case you also have to consider:
Chris Shelton (DET) - .325 37 R 10 HR 38 RBI
Gustavo Chacin (TOR) - 134.0 IP 11-6 3.36 ERA 81 K
Robinson Cano (NYY) - .291 46 R 8 HR 40 RBI

For the NL, how about:
Zach Duke (PIT) - 46.2 IP 5-0 1.54 ERA 35 K .254 BAA
Jeff Francoeur (ATL) - 77 AB .403 20 R 8 HR 21 RBI

Street all the way. He has been DOMINATING in his role and hes freaking 22. (not that age matters) The fact that a 30+ year old veteran in japanese baseball (or any other baseball league) is considerd a rookie is a travesty to the game and MUST be changed.

not a rookie

he didn't play full season last year.

You do not have to play a full season to be eliminated as ROTY. There are a certain number of games (not exactly sure how many), but Wright cannot be ROTY.

That said, I vote for Robinson Cano.

I believe it's 62 games or something.

that is correct. you become a potential candidate once the following criteria are met:

-at least 130 at-bats
-at least 50 innings pitched
-at least 45 days on the roster

in 2004, wright came to bat 263 times, thus making 2004 his rookie year.

From MLB.com:

A player shall be considered a rookie unless, during a previous season or seasons, he has (a) exceeded 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues; or (b) accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club or clubs during the period of 25-player limit (excluding time in the military service and time on the disabled list).

Too bad wright would have it guaranteed

Barmes was on the road to be a sure shot

AL: Iguchi
NL: Francoeur unfortunately, unless zach duke goes like 10-0 this season

OF Willy Taveras leads all major league rookies in hits (120), batting (.291), games (105), singles (103), infield hits (54), bunt singles (23) and steals (27).

Also the Astros finally have someone who can play defense in center

Another vote for Gustavo Cauchin... 11-6, couple of those wins coming against big teams, he's had a big hand in keeping it realistic for the Jays after the Doc went down.
