Word's going to come down from the donors to the plebeians, tea baggers, and other subspecies of H. Dumbfvckistanus to support Jeb Bush this time around.

I cant help but think the Bush name is too tainted to even be a choice. Especially for Jeb who isnt really widely known in the US

Did you miss the thread about people still believe Iraq has WMD's.
H. Dumbfvckistanus has an attention span of 3 weeks, and finely honed defense mechanisms against reality.
If the donors decide it's Jeb, which it looks like they are leaning towards, it's Jeb. Money buys enough ads to play the GOP rank and file dupes like a fiddle.

Wouldn't that be to his benefit though?

Also consider that he'll more than likely be running against a Clinton...;)

Clinton's presidency and the Clinton name are highly regarded, on both sides.
Bush's...not so much

Thus far it seems the 2016 GOP presidential primary is shaping up to be a lot like 2012.

This should end well for them.

There's change in the air from the Republican Party, and the Tea Party, and other more conservative factions.

We won't stand for another Bush or a Romney!

It's Conservatism or Bust, this time around, and the Republican Leadership should take note early.

If it's a Bush or a Romney, I'm voting Libertarian.

The Repubs have got to solve the problem of having their candidates appear to be far right raving lunatics to get past their Tea Party controlled primaries.

They've also got to solve the problem of appearing to be biased against minorities as they push for closed borders to appease their base on the one hand while trying to keep the borders wide open to appease their big business donors who rely on illegal immigrants to maximize profits for their businesses.

And let's not even mention how they just can't seem to find a truly inspiring presidential candidate(s) that have the charisma, REAL intelligence, finesse and beguiling sleight of hand to lure the independents and DINO's into voting for them and ALL of which Romney is simply outright lacking.

Good luck with that.

This is a strange world right now. Anything can and does happen. Just look back at the mid-terms.

The two parties are the same on all but the most superfluous of issues. Neither side wants to end the unnecessary imperialism we are engaging in overseas, or fix our monetary system, because both sides are working for the same super rich wealthy class of banks and military industrial complex heads.

The only real alternative that offers real, actual, policy changes is the libertarian party, but with massive help of the media, they will never garner more than a handful of votes. People get riled up over nonsensical issues while ignoring the issues that are actually detrimental to their lives.

Once again, I foresee my vote will be with the libertarian party. On the important issues, Bush/Romney/Clinton are identical. All three want to continue our foreign policy of intervention, and imperialism, all three will allow financial institutions to continue robbing the American people, and none of the three have even a smidgeon of concern for the country's future.

Unfortunately, as usual, we'll be subject to some charade around a frivolous issue like "gay rights", "abortion" or which social program to cut and which to expand in a futile effort to "balance the budget" while ignoring the proverbial elephant in the room ( military spending that accounts for the majority of the budget).

We don't need anymore democans or republicrats. We need someone who would work on fixing the true issues that destroy our country. Fixing our monetary system by abolishing the federal reserve. Changing the lobbying system of government to reduce the influence of banks and the super wealthy. Bringing our military back home, and focusing on building our own infrastructure and nation. Neither of the two parties are interested in any of this, they only want power so they can stuff their bank accounts.

So the last two Republican Presidential Candidates lost because they weren't conservative enough.

You have a real solid handle on recent electoral history.

The last midterm went exactly as second mid-terms historically have gone.

Nothing remotely strange about it.

If you're looking to the midterms (with record low turnout) as any kind of a benchmark for a presidential election, you're in for a world of hurt in 2016. The demographics simply won't be comparable.

Presidents have been mere figureheads for decades. A Romney or Bush nomination simply confirms this fact. Either I vote third-party or don't vote at all.

I won't vote lock step with a party for the 2016 election. I will vote for whoever I feel possesses the ability and intent to do what is best for the country. Hillary is out for me. I don't trust her. Mitt is out for me. I don't trust him. I'm watching Elizabeth Warren and I'm watching Rand Paul. Voting for a 3rd party, IMO, is a wasted vote and always has been. No more Bush's, no more Clintons.

Not interested in elite dynasties.

My own top 10 of sorts...

01. Repeal Dodd/Frank and replace it with proven legislation in the Glass Steagall Act.
02. Either repeal or renegotiate NAFTA, GATT and CAFTA.
03. Put an end to fascistic Presidential Executive Orders and Memoranda. Only Congress can enact legislation. Repeal any unconstitutional orders starting with the most troublesome.
04. Repeal the Affordable Care Act and encourage health care insurance competition over state lines
05. Eliminate the revolving K-Street door with Congress
06 Prosecute Wall St. precipitants of the 2008 financial collapse
07. Break up a media monopoly where 90% ownership is allowed to six corporations
08. Institute term limits for Congress
09. Confront China on trade relations
10. Pull the US out of the WTO

And how many of these are Republicans for? Maybe #04. Maybe.
