Leftists should learn to appreciate the difference between those receiving government handouts and their need to work, and those who are paying the taxes supporting the handouts.

Non-leftists should learn to appreciate the way the people on top take from those below them, and the need for wealth not to be hoarded but everyone to benefit.

The people 'paying the taxes' aren't like some generous people - every one of them got their wealth from others, and are *giving back*.

And the economy does better with the wealth shared than too concentrated.

Craig also knows that Romney is more moderate than the general leadership of the reps. The thing to note is that if we are to correct problems inherent with medicaid dependence the concept of work as a positive must be taught to many and to do that children must be watched while the parent learns how to work and get at least a basic education. So far this hasn't happened but it needs to.

Do you even have one statistic to prove that? I can can show you chart after chart of how the economy has flourished since the upper and middle tax bracket cuts in the 80's.

I don't believe you. I have posted in the past how my wife has been a stay at home mom, and I make very little, and we can still afford shit.

The fact is, people can't manage their own money, yet expect the government to be able to manage the whole country's.

On a public policy level, it makes absolutely no sense to encourage poor people to have more children.

Righties embrace contradiction as a matter of course, a product of believing in things they never really examined. When cognitive dissonance occurs, they just lash out in denial, shut down the process of introspection, cling to existing belief even more tightly.

If work provides dignity to welfare moms, why doesn't it do the same thing for the kept women of the Wealthy? Or are dignity & money the same thing in the minds of Righties?

The children of those who support their own have the real satisfaction of knowing that they are being taken care of by parents who put effort into it. Sometimes one parent works, sometimes both. The parents for their part get it too. Occasionally bad things happen and people need help, but perpetuating it generation after generation? No.

Obviously, however, it makes perfect sense that they should pay for their own methods of contraception, right?

Perhaps we should just demand abstinence on their part, like that'll work-

"Hey You! Yeh, You, Poor People! No sex for you! You can't afford it!"

Lol we have a large consolidation of wealth, followed by some if the worst child poverty rates in history.

46% of Americans are on some sort of government assistance, while the wealth of the top 10% has grown at 10x the rate if the bottom %90.

I personally made nearly 200k last year and paid 40k just to the feds, in taxes. My wife's has been home raising our kids for 3 years.

I am however under no illusion that the consolidation of wealth over the past 30 years is a good thing and have no problem paying my fair share in taxes.

If you want to cut social programs I want to cut defense. Since I pay more in taxes than the median income of some states should I get more of a voice on how that money is spent?

Here you and I agree. I would definitely make contraception and abortion freely available.

The fact that the Romney's have actually given to Planned Parenthood in the past (I have a hunch that John McCain never did so) makes me think that this is hopefully largely a campaign stunt.
