“Even if you have a child two years of age you need to go to work.,” Romney said in a campaign stop in Manchester, N.H. in January. “And people said, 'Well that's heartless.' And I said, 'No, no, I'm willing to spend more giving day care to allow those parents to go back to work. It'll cost the state more providing that daycare, but I want the individuals to have the dignity of work.'"

Apparently Romney disagrees with his wife that raising children is work or that it has the dignity of work.

His wife was funded by taxpayers?

You're full of shit on this one and you know it. Rich people not working isn't the subject there. It's those on government aid who are unemployed.

Unemployed? Are you saying that being a mom is not a job?

What a fucking farce. For most people the dignity of work is the dignity of slavery, a brainwashing technique designed to make palatable via self flattery a life of meaningless repetitions and soulless grind.

He also wanted the state to pay for daycare so moms would have the dignity of work, but he wouldn't provide that dignity to his own wife.

Fact is that middle class families would have collapsed 30+ years ago if women had no entered the work force. It's the only thing keeping them financially breaking even.

A fact that has been completely lost/ignored in this silly season election discussion.

Why do you think that applies to silver spoons?

They don't need jobs.

Let's hear Romney's plans for bringing dignity with 10% unemployment. Massive public works projects? Close borders to slave made goods? Or is he just going to throw them out and say you're on your own?

Oh I know lets cut taxes so it trickles down. It'll work this time.

It does sound like this is in the context of government aid, no?

He wanted to spend MORE government money on day care so that mothers would have the "dignity of work". But raising your own kids did not qualify as work for Romney back then. And "dignity" of being separated from your two year old kid to go to work is not something he provided for Ann Romney.

Let's not discuss the fact the amount if employed people today is roughly the same as April 2000.

So in 12 years we really haven't added any jobs.

But yeah let's attack unemployed, rather than attack the shitty policies that stifle job growth in favor of corporate profits.

Dow is doing fine, middle class is not.

Most know that. The inflation of several decades ago forced that change. The real news is that the OPs FOS on this one since context is important. In that Romney is right.

There is no disgrace in honest labor and a job well done.

Are you saying that raising kids is or isn't work depending on the context?

I seem to recall a sticked post, not so long ago, that discussed the issue in this forum with people who continue to use intentional obtuseness, logical fallacy etc. I understood at the time that something was going to be done about it. I wonder if reporting SenseAmp would result in an improvement in his obvious troll baiting and logical fallacies. We shall see.

I said the other day that meaningful medicaid reform with the intent of getting people off of a handout and becoming employed and educated would meet opposition, and here you are. I see you. Your words do not clothe your nakedness.

It may sound crazy but I don't consider child raising to be "work". If its something I would do for free regardless of cost and would never pay someone else to do, how can I call it work?

I'm not saying child raising doesn't have value; but when women who make $250,000 USD a year take 2-3 years off for child raising or even frankly retire from their gigs for up to 10 years* at a time for that purpose you have to wonder if its really work or something else... I mean they aren't retiring to raise other people's kids.

*This is not uncommon practice in medicine for female docs to quit to raise children or frankly retire for 10 years and then return to the field

This is precious. You are going to report me for perceived "intentional obtuseness and logical fallacy" of my reporting on an actual intentional obtuseness and logical fallacy of the right and Mitt Romney.
The intentional obtuseness is pretending that raising a kid being "work" depends on the context. And logical fallacy of saying stay at home poor moms need to get a job to have dignity of work, while at the same time claiming that being a mom is a full time job. Go ahead, report me.

It seems like getting them off medicaid and onto govt subsidized daycare is just changing one hand out for another.

Even Romney's wife is gonna have to get a job to help pay off Obamacare and the Government spending of the last 5 years.

You didn't answer my question. I see you too. You are a hypocrite.

A young girl was trudging along a mountain path, trying to reach her grandmother's house. It was bitter cold, and the wind cut like a knife. When she was within sight of her destination, she heard a rustle at her feet.

Looking down, she saw a snake. Before she could move, the snake spoke to her. He said, "I am about to die. It is too cold for me up here, and I am freezing. There is no food in these mountains, and I am starving. Please put me under your coat and take me with you."

"No," replied the girl. "I know your kind. You are a rattlesnake. If I pick you up, you will bite me, and your bite is poisonous."

"No, no," said the snake. "If you help me, you will be my best friend. I will treat you differently."

The little girl sat down on a rock for a moment to rest and think things over. She looked at the beautiful markings on the snake and had to admit that it was the most beautiful snake she had ever seen.

Suddenly, she said, "I believe you. I will save you. All living things deserve to be treated with kindness."

The little girl reached over, put the snake gently under her coat and proceeded toward her grandmother's house.

Within a moment, she felt a sharp pain in her side. The snake had bitten her.

"How could you do this to me?" she cried. "You promised that you would not bite me, and I trusted you!"

"You knew what I was when you picked me up," hissed the snake as he slithered away.

I know what you are.

Why doesn't Mitt respect a woman's right to choose to be a stay at home mom?

Romney never was a small gov guy. He's a Bush, a Neocon. Big gov his way, the 'compassionate' way. Republicans are morons for nominating him.
