The fact that the Republican party spent over 40 years telling disadvantaged whites that they plight was due to "gifts" to black folks made it almost impossible toto build a constituency based on common economic interests. Actually it's been more than 40 years; read the accounts of union organizers in the auto and coal industries from the 50s, you'll see the same thing.

Romney could very well have said this: Obama's policies just happen to favor the majority more, and that's why he won the election. But he didn't, he had to be a fucking cry baby about it. But that is expected from someone who is so detached with the reality of what the rest of the country is going through.

Our real selves were destroyed as children to protect us from the ridicule that being real brings. We were given an alternate communal self respect, the greatness of belonging to the best team. Thus, owning to the time place and culture we were born in, got dealt belonging to the great white race. Changing gift to "free stuff" the outrage is Obama gave stuff to black people in order to get their vote. There is nothing he "gave" exclusively to black people but that is the insinuation.

So in the minds of red staters "those lazy shiftless black people are on the government dole and vote Democrat to keep getting their stuff"

John Stewart has Cain on occasionallly and he treats him like a serious person and just lets Cain act normally. Its pretty funny that unintentionally Cain is just so damn funny.

There are probably more white people who voted for Romney because he's white than black people who voted for Obama because he's black, a lot more. Blacks are only 12% of the population, and white racism is still as American as Mom & apple pie in many places in this country.
