Well, it came sooner than I thought it would.
No great loss, I'm sure he was tired of throwing his money away for no reason.
Wonder who he will endorse if anyone?

I believe he is going to "suspend" his campaign, if anything. That way if JM drops dead (or worse, swallows his foot), he can "un-suspend" his campaign and go for it.

Otherwise all we'd have left is Huck and the other guy.

If he decides to "suspend" his campaign in order to retain his delegates, he will brand himself as a flip flopper- just like that other guy from Massachusetts.

Little too soon to tell, seems like alot of his "base" won't be voting for him. I know I most likely won't.

Apparently Romney has spent 50 million of his own money in his efforts to get the nomination. There's something seriously wrong with wanting to be President that badly.

As with Edwards, the word "suspend" is used so the campaign funds can be kept or transferred or something or other. It is a technicality, the Romney campaign is over and will not come back in 2008.

Actually, there's something seriously wrong about someone having that much disposable wealth.

Actually, there's really nothing wrong with that at all.

What's wrong with it? He earned the money.

Agreed. Bloomberg said if he runs he'd be willing to throw $1 Billion at the race. I don't exactly know how he could even spend that much in 6-8 months, but where there's a will...

Can't wait to hear the foaming-at-the-mouth right-wing-zealot pundits talk about this. Will they circle the wagons around McCain as the lesser of the evils, or will they hold true to their earlier bluster and continue to attack him through the general election?

good to know elections aren't -- entirely -- for sale.

You're thinking in the wrong currency. I'm sure McCain has exchanged something.

I think it'll be a low key campaign for the remainder on the republican side... the Huckster seems to have been running for a VP slot all along, and I think he's really close to getting it.

I doubt it.... there's not much animosity personally between Huck and Mac. Romney and McCain apparently can't stand each other, so there was plenty of animosity there. I wouldn't be surprised to see Huckabee as a VP candidate, he'd help McCain pick up the southern states where there's lots of evangelicals.

Have you been listening? Huckabee, Paul, or the party will burn by my vote and I am not alone.

Huckabee and McCain share the same Populist views, the only conservative left is Paul. Whether or not you care, or if you think he's a kook is besides the point. He's it, he's the only 1 left.
