I'm always a bit wary of the critics score. They gave grown ups 10% and everything I've heard is it's an awesome movie. I haven't seen it yet but I'll repoort back later today when I go to see it. Also A team is at like 50% and that was an awesome movie...

Don't see it in 3D. It wasn't shot in 3D so they used the same post-processing crap that screwed up the 3D in Clash of the Titans.

This is bad filmmaking and bad storytelling. It also sounds what should be the death knell to M. Night Shyamalan's career.

lets hope so. this guy shouldn't be making any more movies

Don't blame the critics, blame RTs stupid ass rating system. If all of the critics reviews are barely negative, you see a 0%. If all the critics are barely positive, you see 100%. Does that mean the movie is either the best or worst movie out there? Nope... it just means you should have used metacritic to find out it falls into the 40-60% range

Well I am going to go and see it. A lot of these movies lately IMO are casting kids too young for the roles. Kick Ass, Mindy was just too young. The Karate Kid was a really nice surprise, good movie, but even in that one I felt the kids were too young for the characters. In the original Karate Kid those kids were much older. And when I saw the clips for this, that is the first thing I found odd was the youth of the main character. I know a lot of these movies are based around books and comics, but the youth translated to the screen just doesn't appear to be working well.

It has wizards or some shit in it so I'll still go see it. There hasn't been shit on that was worth watching in the theater for awhile now.

Whatever, Mindy was awesome.

Damn. I was hoping this was going to be a good movie too. Then I saw it was M. Knight and I thought uh ohs. Now it seems like my fears have been realized.

Guess I'll wait for the dvd.

I wasn't expecting much from M. Night.

It's hard to turn an action anime series into a good live action movie regardless of the producer/director, though. I remember shaking my head when a live action DBZ movie was announced; I knew a live action DBZ movie would turn out bad. Unfortunately, I was right.

Avatar is a great series, though. I haven't watched it in its entirety, so maybe I can do that when I have some time and forget that Shamaalalalallama's version exists.

"The Last Airbender squanders the potential of its popular source material on an incomprehensible plot, laughable dialogue, and a joyless sense of detachment."

For all the badness that this movie is ... people, even people within this thread will go squander their hard-earned money and irreplaceable time going to watch this shlock. It's a sad indictment of our society when movies like this are made and make money ... and this movie WILL make money. Why? because the world is full of sad, detached people who are ultimately disappointed with life. These people's expectations (of what life could have been) are not being met so they go see these crappy movies to escape and be "entertained".

It's quite sad ...

At least Uwe Boll's movies are laughably bad. Still laugh with my friends about the attack of the books in Dungeon Siege: Return of the King.

IN THE NAME OF THE KING NOT RETURN OF THE KING!!!!!:thumbsdown:

I'm not sure if you're mad that I just slandered LotR or the Uwe Boll move. :p

Unless he's Uwe Boll (I wouldn't mess with that guy :D ), I would say it's LoTR he's defending.

Though no one should know the titles of Uwe Boll's movies that well...

Shamalamdingdong hasn't made a good film since Unbreakable IMO, and even then, that was barely worth calling good.
