Yes, I live in Canada.

if you grab them by the neck and pick them up they honk and you and their feet run really fast like a cartoon

You've done that too? lol

There's a baseball field near me where about 100 or so congregate every evening.

They sure are fun to fuck with.

Team,

The turkeys are back again this year. They typically go away in about 2 weeks unless someone feeds them. As a reminder, for your safety, please do not feed or try to pet them. If they are preventing you from accessing the building or your car, please do not attempt to scare them off yourself?these are wild animals and may attack if provoked. Please contact Eddie for assistance if you need help in accessing either the building or your car.

Thanks,

rofl, i saw them yesterday.. like 6 of them just chillin in the grass. what's funny is that this is a rather densely populated town just 20 mins north of Boston.

For a good time, dial 555-0U81, ---- ask for Eddie

I wonder how many get the reference.

We had a janitor who just caught one with his hands, shoved it into his car and slaughtered it for food.

Next day he bragged about it. Then he got fired. hahahahaha why?

My guess is you need a hunting license, and can only kill them during a certain time of year. Not that its the employers business, but whatever.

Heh, we have those a lot over here, too.. I just leave 'em alone, but when they try and peck you, I'll just bitchslap them.. :p

Not hard enough to damage them, mind you, but hard enough to let them know who's boss.

Whaaaat, I'd rather deal with geese than wild turkeys. We have a whole bunch that roam through our yard, they scare our 90lb dogs.

Just a bit of additional information about how "harmless" geese are. Geese, whether wild or domestic, are capable of inflicting a great deal of harm on even a large human being. You can often get away with being aggressive with them under certain circumstances, but that doesn't mean you can treat them with impunity.

A male Canada goose can and will make you sorry you messed with him if he's protecting a female and goslings. If you try to respond to his animosity with force and threatening movement you may get his mate to join in the attack. This isn't a good position to be in. Trust me. I accidentally got myself in this situation once while riding a motorcycle. Being attacked by two of these flying dinosaurs when you're on foot really sucks. Having it happen when you're astride a bike is tragicomic.

And the beak is hardly their only weapon. They can beat the crap out of you with those wings. These are not hummingbirds. It takes unbelievable muscle power to launch that huge body and keep it in the air. The wings hurt. Even through full leathers.

You do not want to be the target of a really angry gander. If you go scorched earth with him, yes you will probably win. But you're certain to catalog some painful injuries yourself. And then there's the issue of what the local constabulary will do to you for damaging / killing the bird. Messing with these animals is "agin the law" in a lot of places.

I'm just saying, sometimes you get away with it. But sometimes you reap the whirlwind.

its breeding season and the males are very aggressive and dangerous.

Even Postal Workers are getting attacked: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/200...t/odd_postal_turkeys_4

That link would be 5 star if it included live footage of the attacks. :D

Pfft.. I'd punch one right in the head and knock that bitch out before he could even touch me.

And wtf, isn't if a person attacks you, you have a right to defend yourself? Why should an animal be any different? If an animal attacks me I'll sure as hell defend myself.

Geese really arent dangerous, when i lived in NW PA there was a huge problem with them.

If one gets near you, you can just kick the damn things and theyll go away.

And yes, if you grab them by the neck they do really honk at you and try to run hilariously.
