Subject: Wild Turkeys in parking lot

Team,

The turkeys are back again this year. They typically go away in about 2 weeks unless someone feeds them. As a reminder, for your safety, please do not feed or try to pet them. If they are preventing you from accessing the building or your car, please do not attempt to scare them off yourself?these are wild animals and may attack if provoked. Please contact Eddie for assistance if you need help in accessing either the building or your car.

Thanks,

rofl, i saw them yesterday.. like 6 of them just chillin in the grass. what's funny is that this is a rather densely populated town just 20 mins north of Boston.

We had a janitor who just caught one with his hands, shoved it into his car and slaughtered it for food.

Next day he bragged about it. Then he got fired. hahahahaha why?

We have Canadian geese here, they build nests in the parking lot and will chase you sometimes. They hiss at me when I walk into work, I want to break their stupid hooked necks when they do that. Not to meniton all the goose shit.

yes! u work in the office park too?

No, I used to work in that area (where Zoran use to be). I would always see them running around and pooping everywhere. I miss that area though. So many places to eat lunch in that area.

Geese are mean and will mess you up. Turkeys are stupid and harmless.

My parents are in North Reading and when I drop by I see about 8-10 wandering around most of the time, nice big fat ones. They look tasty.

its breeding season and the males are very aggressive and dangerous.

Even Postal Workers are getting attacked: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/200...t/odd_postal_turkeys_4

I had a wild turkey take a dump on my car's windshield once.

...not something I ever want to have happen again.

As far as turkeys attacking, unless you threaten their young, or you're a smaller animal, they won't. My parent's dog and the turkeys that roamed through the yard were almost on the verge of friendly, they'd keep their distance but wouldn't bother each other. As far as killing one and eating it, you need the proper tags from the fish and game department for that, and they're not as good as a store bought or farm raised one due to the diet of the turkey. Also, typically only the males can be taken. So make sure the fella has a beard.

Dude, do you work with me? There's one that built a nest in our parking lot, that thing locks onto you w/ its beak and generally makes you feel uncomfortable walking by

You've done that too? lol

There's a baseball field near me where about 100 or so congregate every evening.

They sure are fun to fuck with.

I know enough to leave them alone in the spring. Once they start nesting, they get very aggressive.

The mallards around here seem more mild mannered.

Geese are nasty! They pinch your ass and upper thigh and leave nasty welts. My mom grew up around them and says that if you don't watch your back they will sneak up on you.
