Let’s think positively and Dems retain control of congress in November and somehow get the super majority in the senate in 2024. Can’t imagine the fake outrage from the right when the Dems sign in a new federal abortion law and actual meaningful gun regulations.

Edit Warren interview brought up which I forgot. She’s calling to get 2 more senators so they can get rid of the filibuster so things can still get done in 2023.

About 90% of the gay people I know in Texas are either in the process of departing the state or strongly considering it due to the likely legal discrimination coming down the line. We all expect the worst and this court wants to deliver.

Yes, it has begun in earnest now. They're not even pretending anymore.

We are going to see top tier nutty laws get passed in the states that are so absurd people will struggle to comprehend they are real.
Silly, only the 2nd matters.
So putting these two together…. In Texas does this mean that home owners (of the white male Christian variety) will be able to legally shoot their wife’s fetus for trespassing if the fetus isn’t his?

I assume that depends on the complexion of the genetic father.

With the gerrymandered districts? 25% of the country makes the decisions now.

Based on Alito’s justification guess what right can go back to the states?

Loving v Virginia and that was decided only in 1970

Interracial marriage has been illegal for most of this countries life

Not an explicit right
Yes, I don't see any coherent logic where the right to abortion is not protected but the right to interracial marriage is. If they are logically consistent interracial marriage bans, contraception bans, sodomy bans, and same sex marriage bans are all perfectly fine for states or the feds to implement.

Anyone else feel like the Dems are constantly getting their asses handed to them even though they have control of the Presidency, Senate, and House?

The dems really needed to eke out 52 or 53 seats the last time around to have sufficient margin to overcome conservative dems in the conference.

If you disagree with this ruling, the only thing I know to do is to NOT vote for ANYONE who supports it and is running for office.

It's more than that. If you have any say in where major events are held, then speak up. Don't send 30,000 or 100,000 people to Texas or Indiana for major conventions. You get on blast and tell everyone loud and clear that you support women's autonomy and will send your dollars to states that support that right. My wife is doing that right now for a major health care convention that was supposed to be held in New Orelean's next year. LA has one of the more restrictive laws getting pushed right now. There's not a reasonable way a health care group can support these decisions. Vote with your wallet and let people know why. It's one of the few freedoms left.

Indianapolis starts losing 500k visitors a year and they'll feel that.

Yeah the only reason he decided not to include it is because it would not benefit him personally.

Cute that you think voting determines any output in the direction of this country.

This was planned and engineered long in advance by political think tanks...

Pretty sure one of the appeals courts just dropped a decision stating boycotts are not protected speech.
