Rock bands with a violin?

First thing when I saw the thread was Apocolyptica... it's like takes the "Unplugged..." concept of rock to another level.

I thought of Yellowcard. Bond is good, but its more... classical pop than rock. Still good.

It's a violin... that just sounds like gypsy music or eastern european music. Then the two Nitemare linked sound like new age stuff...

The second one Nitemare linked to was a strings-version of Metallica's "Unforgiven".... doesn't really sound new age to me.

Their new stuff can be considered new age, they just did alot of Metallica covers.

I don't know if they have it on their albums, but when I saw Foo Fighters in concert a few weeks ago they had a violinist.

Funny nobody's mentioned the greatest rock band featuring violins ...... Electric Light Orchestra. FTW of course.

I live in Chester and have seen him busking lots of times when I was younger, haven't seen him for ages though. Never realised he was this famous!
