I od not have sound....but do you mean rock songs that just incorporates a violin? If you like that then try something from The Verve (Bittersweet Symphony) or Oasis (Whatever).

Funny nobody's mentioned the greatest rock band featuring violins ...... Electric Light Orchestra. FTW of course.

I'll also have to add Trans Siberian Orchestra.

Thanks I've been looking for more bands with violin/string/wind instruments

I happen to like Within Temptation, Kamelot, Leave's eyes, and Lacuna Coil for this type of music. Kamelot has a violin, but the other 3 some do and some don't (well some songs, but they don't put them in every song).

Anybody hear "Hey There Delilah" with violin?

I suggest Murder by Death. There's no violin, but there is a cello. It might satisfy your need for another stringed instrument. :p

Check out their song "Brother"

Am I the only that thought that this was a thread about the video game Rock Band with a violin?

These are metal bands as opposed to rock bands, but here's some of my favorites.

Silent Stream of godless Elegy: They use violin in pretty much all of their songs
Haggard: They use violin in pretty much all of their songs
Shape of Despair: moderate violin usage
My Dying Bride: Some of their older albums feature a violin.

There are MANY more out there ... this is just the tip of the ice berg.

Not a violin but Sigur Ros often uses a bow to play a guitar, in effect bowing the strings of the electric guitar. Very cool sound.

I thought of Yellowcard. Bond is good, but its more... classical pop than rock. Still good.

Yeah, Yellowcard has some type of strings player.
