How did HBO find the guy and why was he not arrested a long time ago?

There was no evidence directly linking him to the LA murder, apparently until the guys making the doc turned some up. The doc is pretty interesting and unusual since Bob Durst himself is in so much of it and gives an interview.

Oops. I guess he didn't consult a lawyer before doing the show.

A jury believed his self defence story in one case. And he can be hard to find when he's dressing as a woman.

Apparently he actually wrote the guy making this documentary and offered his story. He should have known he'd be bringing one big spotlight right on himself.

His own ego is finally going to do him in.

His lawyer was present at all times supposedly. The evidence that was uncovered was in the possession of a 3rd party that was part of the doc and nobody else knew it existed and the guy didn't know the importance it had.

What I loved most were some of the great and absurd things that Bob would say, little one liners here and there. Or the insane circumstances and situations that just made me laugh my ass off. So much insanity. I want to rewatch the whole thing already

I've always wanted to be arrested for eating pussy in public.

Even better if its like, the mayors daughter or Miss Teen USA or something.

The dude has about 200 "tells." It's amazing just watching him conduct himself throughout the interview process.

haha that burping was pretty bad. that ending was incredible. you can just imagine if Jarecki pushed a little harder or played things differently, that bathroom tape might not exist

He didn't have his lawyer along for the last interview and he left his wireless microphone on when he went to the bathroom and said to himself "What did you do? You killed them all.".

That's aspergers... It seems to be all the rage to self diagnose that these days, but it's pretty obvious here. It was diagnosed during the Texas trial.

Yeah, appears to be.

Used to work with a guy that had it.

I still haven't even watched the whole series, had been putting it off. Going to have to now.

such a great series. another HBO winner. kicks the shit out of that lame Serial podcast

Ha, that's exactly what I thought when I heard this story break. 'Oh? Sounds like someone did "Serial" right.'

That settles it, I'm ordering HBO when it becomes available through Apple TV.
