I can't see the sub being the problem, Ron. I never had the chance to use it with the 705 but it always worked fine with the Yamaha. You've had it running with another receiver as well.

I'm assuming you have the sub cable connected to the proper (LFE) connector on the sub?

I only had the sub running on the +/- connections before I bought the 805. My old HTIB AVR didn't have an LFE jack. I couldn't find a spare cable to test the KSW10's LFE before I did the RMA. I'm hoping there's a loose wire on the inside of the sub. *crosses fingers*

I hope that's the problem too, or that it least it's something simple. Maybe something came loose while the gorillas from UPS were handling it?

Me too. I went to get my torx bits to open it up and the size I need was missing! Jeebus... Off to the store first thing tomano. Grrrr

Have you tried opening up the sub yet then?

I don't remember if you tried this already, but have you tried turning the subwoofer level up all the way on the receiver and lowering the gain on the subwoofer itself to compensate?

EDIT: oh, you just said that you hadn't opened it yet

Well, at least you finally got it diagnosed. $60 isn't too bad for the repair on it either. And at least you know you have a fully functional top-grade receiver now too.
