I'm about to go through a RMA experience with Gigabyte. Should I expect a long period of time for them to Fix or replace my hardware? Are RMA's generally nightmares in the making?

I don't often RMA stuff, but my past experience has gone well. I am currently waiting for Shuttle to send me a replacement motherboard.

They are probably going to test whatever you send them, so I'd expect a 2 week period from the time you sent them the hardware. Maybe longer. You can probably email their RMA department and ask the status of your RMA.

RMA's can be smooth sailing or nightmares, depending upon who you're sending them to. It's best to send back to the vendor (IMO), because they usually just swap for a new one, with little wait. Sending back to the mfg'er can involve a lot more time.

That's what I do. I've never had an issue...
