I suggest that anyone who has received the "non-qualifying store" message at rebatestatus.com contact Best Buy at 1-800-849-0444. The rep at Best Buy answered the phone promptly, and she was very nice (especially when you consider that all they do is get people calling with problems all day!). Best Buy will issue you a case ID#. The more customers that call and let Best Buy know there is a problem with this, the more likely it will be pushed to the top of the priority list. - Posted by Cornelius

Hmmm....my rebate isn't showing up yet. If they deny the rebate, I don't want this thing, not at $50. But supposedly they won't give a refund if you cut out the UPC. What to do?

I was thinking the same thing, but that is why I have waited before hacking up the box...If I had too, I could probably eBay this thing for my $50 back...

My rebate showed up today and I bought it from Best Buy, so
not all BB purchased rio's are having rebates refused.

Status: We have received your submission and it is being processed. Please check back again to receive the date your rebate or premium item was mailed.

Well add me to the list of those getting the "non-qualifying store" rejection notice. (Check yours at www.rebatestatus.com)

This just seems a bit nutty since the rebate form was printed out by Best Buy along with the RIO 600 receipt.

I'll call Best Buy at the number listed above (1-800-849-0444 ) on Monday. Ugh. What a pain.

But a big "Thank You!" to the folks posting this development on this forum. I love this forum.

Do you think that means your rebates have been approved or that they still might be rejected after they are "processed"?

not sure---
i think with staples--they process, then either reject or accept it.-->not sure with BB
So mine might be rejected after a few days--but hopefully not ;)

my Rio600 infor finally got posted on rebatestatus and I got the same message about a non-qualifying retailer.
guess I gonna have to call that number now.

has anyone gotten this resolved yet??

I just called BB rebate center and rebatestatus.com. They told me it was a mistake! BB is qualified for the rebate. So the CSR helped to overide it!

So just call them at 1-800-849-0444!

I don't understand how a BB rep can override this rebate because it's a manufacturer's rebate from Rio. I called the 800 number and they said I'd have to call the Rio/Rebate center number and talk to them about it.

1-800-849-0444 is the phone number of Rio rebate program. It is their CSR helped to change the status!

yo peepz whose rebate requests are getting rejected by rio people.

i called 1-800-849-0444, and it's the number for the best buy rebate center. they really don't have control over much, except that they can write up requests for investigation (case number, etc).

the people you need to get a hold of are the rio reps themselves. the BB rebate center will call the rio reps for you, but mine had a hard time dialing out from their region or something like that, so she gave me a number to call. its 1-877-776-4005...

the rio rep saw that it was indeed an error in the system, and was eager to change the status for me. 8 weeks for the rebates to come home. i guess i'll have to starve until then.

I did the same thing and called the bestbuy number, but the csr also had trouble dialing out to them.
I guess I'll try myself as well. thanks for the info guys, this $50 better come! :)

EDIT
Ok, called the Rio reps and they said it was some kinda mistake, ya rite....trying rip people off is what i say....
Now they say it will be resubmitted and takes another 6-8 weeks from today....sheesh.....

I filled out the form on the rebatestatus.com website and they seem to have taken care of it. Now I see 2 entries, one for the one that was rejected and a resubmitted one that says it's being processed.
