Looks like best buy is matching the 99.99 - 50 MIR for the rio 600 mp3 player.. its 49.97 at best buy B&M.. with a 20 dollar MIR.. the .97 price indiates a pricematch to circuit city otherwise it would be .99.. this is HOT for 29.97 after MIR.. this is not 100percent confirmed yet but best buy has been known to match circuit city's prices if they have a rebate going... btw i orginally saw this on FW, and credit is due to that poster.

Does anyone have a scan of this? At this time, there is no information regarding the rio 600 with 32 megs of ram at best but online.

this is the one on BB.com and it says 64 megs of ram, yet the model number "RIO 600" is the exact same in the Circuit City ad.. hmmm

This is a pretty good deal. I just wish the Rio had a belt clip built on the unit.

Cheers

Hahahaha... the add says "rugged, skip free design." That's like advertising a car and listing "it moves and seats people" as a feature. Sweet deal though, if it's true, I'll need to get some. :)

it's a b and m type deal, like the tdk 24x a few weeks ago
my guess is, it rings up at the register like that, at least until some moron tips off somebody that phones home to bb hq and snitches, then they correct it
good luck to all

the 49.97 price is B&M only.. BB is matching CC's price with the rebate.. thus the .97 price tag.. they did this a couple of weeks ago on that laptop nic card... circuit city had it for 19.97 after MIR and BB just matched the 19.97 price to be competitive.. this is the same deal.. its not the 64 meg verison, it is the 32 though, i am gonna check tomorrow morning to commirm this price, but i am almost postivie this is nationwide. you could possibly get this free due to the fact that you could try PMing at circuit city and send in the 50 dollar MIR but they are usualy real lame at circuit city and wont allow a pm with rebate, whatever though, 49.97 is a gonna price for a nice mp3 player IMHO..

unclebud, i doubt they will change the price back.. they didnt with the 10/100 FS511 nic last week, even though they were lossing money off the deal.. a 50 dollar card for 20 bucks is probaly below cost, they might pull this deal but i really doubt it, the thing is finding a best buy that has this one in stock, i know at least at my BB, they never hagve any mp3 players in stock, but they possibly got more in this week.

Hey Babbado:
I think there is some confusion here. There is a Rio 600 with a 32 MB memory and a RIo 600 with a 64 MB memory.
The one that is 32MB is 99.00$ with a 50$ rebate and I think you are referring to that one.
(that one is also the one BB is selling for 49.97(

The other one is 64 MB and is going both in BB and in CC for 149.99 with a 20$ rebate.

Just thought I wold straighten this confusion out. I think th edeal is with the 32 MB one.
Also, I don't know how this happened but I managed to get to BB today and when I took the 32 MB one for 49.97 it gave out a $50 rebate so I don't even need to PM it. I hope you have similar luck but I am quite happy.

Not to be a wet blanket, but There are similar players that use an open standard for memory upgrades. Your only going be able to play 6 to 8 songs maybe a few more if you go to the trouble to convert every song to Microsloth's .WMA.

Otherwise your looking at 79.99 for 64mbs or 199.00 for 128mbs.

I like a free thing as much as the next person, but how useful is this really?

I am gonna pass on this one.

Just checked audible.com. This unit can hold 10 hours of type 2 audio. I would say very useful indeed!

lol just bought 100 of them at my local BB for all free... //just kidding

Went to my local BB has it for $99 and did not see any $49 deal. This is not a hot deal nation wide, it is region restricted.

I went today and they had 2 of them, got them both. $49.97 on the shelf, no mention of the $20 rebate on the shelf and the rebate didn't print at the register. I'll just use the rebate off the website though.

Nice Deal!
