Dude, you need to re-read what he posted and apologize. There is absolutely nothing racist in what he posted. He might be wrong about his mom's boss' reaction, but he might also be right; either way it's not an unreasonable assumption given the situation. I'm lily white and I'd bet money affirmative action at least crossed the man's mind, assuming his daughter is reasonably qualified. Either way, nothing in this post is remotely racist. He specifically said "we shouldnt let people who don't meet the requirements for Universities and Colleges in over people who DO", and he refused to take a racial position on affirmative action, merely deflecting by obliquely pointing out lots of people outside of affirmative action waste their opportunities. (While he didn't specifically mention them, legacy admissions come to mind, a form of affirmative action disproportionately unavailable to blacks AND Asians.) All in all, a measured, specifically non-racist response.
Like Snvla I believe the gap between Asians and other races is entirely cultural. That goes for the gap between whites and blacks to a lesser extent, but it's worth pointing out that many of the factors disproportionately affecting black children - much more likely to be raised by a single parent or grandparent, much more likely to be stuck in a failing inner city school, much less likely to have positive family role models, to name a few - make it difficult to run a strictly merit-based entrance system, much as I believe in that philosophically, and still include blacks in anything near percentage bases. For blacks especially, decades of single-mother-based welfare guarantees that on average they will have weaker family bonds than do Asians on average. And while I'd much prefer that government lift up blacks rather than artificially lower standards and throw up barriers against other races, that's a lot more easily said than done. Attempts to do so are going to run into problems with the teachers' unions, the race pimps, those non-minorities who see resources diverted away from their own kids, etc. But either way, affirmative action is a least-path-of-resistance system of redress set up by whites to help blacks; using it is not racist, and certainly not all blacks in college are there because of affirmative action.
