That doesn't even make sense!
Seriously, before you attempt to insult someone at least learn to use English properly.
Of course that could overload what little brain power you have, guess you have to make choices between remembering to breath and learning to speak properly.
Edit: BTW, DIAF you stupid troll.

Yes it does, your too stupid to understand

You're just as dumb as the lady in the video. I'm starting to think English is your second language.

No doubt in my mind you are part of the 47%, a reputable company would be foolish to hire and pay some idiot that can't even speak English properly.

The bolded statement is complete horse shit, at least with respect to the majority of the conversation that happens in this forum. Please show some examples from this forum to support your claim or clarify that you are not talking about this forum.

this is how it works:

--redneck makes blatantly racist comment. hilariously racist, even.
--someone calls out redneck on being racist numbskull.
--redneck: "See, you're the one bringing up racism! I never mentioned race!"

folks, this is what happens when we stop funding education.

Sure, we shouldnt let people who don't meet the requirements for Universities and Colleges in over people who DO.

However, I don't appreciate the assumption that all people within my race MUST have gotten into college/jobs/whatever due to affirmative action. Do you know how much of that I deal with everyday?

A few months ago at the company picnic for my mom's job, I was approached by one of her bosses who asked me about my Michigan State shirt. He asked "Oh, you're a fan of Michigan State?" I said "Yes, I'm a student there! *smile*". He must be terrible at hiding his feelings because his face told me that he was a bit shocked (possibly disgusted. It was like an angry smirk)..the next thing that comes out of his mouth was "My daughter applied there and she didnt get in...".

I just smiled back and said that the student body has been growing over the past few years and asked what other schools she considered.

I guess he wanted me to feel bad for seemingly taking his daughters spot. He doesn't know anything about me, anything about my grades, or my extra curricular activities.

If you guys want to play the " oppressed" white person card, go ahead...but don't blame people like me for not getting into college. These issues are not always so black and white.

To your last question, do you REALLY expect me to answer for why Asians do better in school that other minorities? I might be black, but that does not mean I can answer for my race. How condescending. You also seem to be assuming that the only way students from minority groups can do well is if someone gives them a handout. Once again, condescending. How about the countless white students who go to college, waste their time partying, don't do well academically, and use financial aid to do it? What about the white kid that probably didn't get in so this kid could? What about the black/asian/latino kid that was just as eligible but didnt get in so this kid could waste their time in college? It happens, I've been in school for a while now and Ive run into students from every racial group that don't do anything in college.

That's your ingrained from birth racism talking.

It's a part of you and you will never let it go. Your racicist glasses can never be removed. It is a core part of you and how you see the world.

Fuck you. Fuck you racist. Fuck you.
Dude, you need to re-read what he posted and apologize. There is absolutely nothing racist in what he posted. He might be wrong about his mom's boss' reaction, but he might also be right; either way it's not an unreasonable assumption given the situation. I'm lily white and I'd bet money affirmative action at least crossed the man's mind, assuming his daughter is reasonably qualified. Either way, nothing in this post is remotely racist. He specifically said "we shouldnt let people who don't meet the requirements for Universities and Colleges in over people who DO", and he refused to take a racial position on affirmative action, merely deflecting by obliquely pointing out lots of people outside of affirmative action waste their opportunities. (While he didn't specifically mention them, legacy admissions come to mind, a form of affirmative action disproportionately unavailable to blacks AND Asians.) All in all, a measured, specifically non-racist response.

Like Snvla I believe the gap between Asians and other races is entirely cultural. That goes for the gap between whites and blacks to a lesser extent, but it's worth pointing out that many of the factors disproportionately affecting black children - much more likely to be raised by a single parent or grandparent, much more likely to be stuck in a failing inner city school, much less likely to have positive family role models, to name a few - make it difficult to run a strictly merit-based entrance system, much as I believe in that philosophically, and still include blacks in anything near percentage bases. For blacks especially, decades of single-mother-based welfare guarantees that on average they will have weaker family bonds than do Asians on average. And while I'd much prefer that government lift up blacks rather than artificially lower standards and throw up barriers against other races, that's a lot more easily said than done. Attempts to do so are going to run into problems with the teachers' unions, the race pimps, those non-minorities who see resources diverted away from their own kids, etc. But either way, affirmative action is a least-path-of-resistance system of redress set up by whites to help blacks; using it is not racist, and certainly not all blacks in college are there because of affirmative action.

You're part of the problem if you won't even acknowledge the truth and fact of the problem. You never left the plantation, you just joined the one the democrats built for you...voluntarily.

To begin, my dad came here on a student visa in the 70's. Has about 4 post-graduate degrees. His hard work allowed me to go to an elite high school and elite universities. Sorry, noone in my family present or past has ever lived on a plantation.

I'm not sure what analogy you are trying to make. I assume you are trying to say Democrats enslave minorities for their votes. Let me ask you, you vote Republican, what does that party do for you? By the things you say, you're poor and uneducated. How has the party helped your life? More wars? It's generally the poor and uneducated who join the military are the infantry and die in wars. Tax cuts for the wealthy? How does that improve your day to day finances? Over the course of the Bush years, were you better off? Cutting government aid for college? Really, help me understand what the Republican party does for the poor and uneducated like yourself. Having said that, think again, who's living on a plantation?

Thanks for being thoughtful, but I don't really need an apology from Spidey. I know what my intentions were and what I experienced with the guy at the picnic. Its fine, I get it...maybe at some point in my life, I benefited from Affirmative Action be it due to being female or due to being black. I don't think I was being racist at all. Maybe Spidey thinks it is impossible for that guy to be looking down on me because his daughter didn't get in.

What I really wanted to express is the fact that many of my accomplishments have been due to my own hard work. I come from the stereotypical black background, my mother has two kids and is a single parent, I spent half my life growing up in Detroit before my mother moved us out to a better area. I know who my father is, where he lives, and I talk to him on a regular basis...but he is more of a friend than a father. The chips were stacked against me from birth I suppose...but I worked hard in high school, got into a GREAT University...got a great job while I am still here so I can pay off my loans.

I'm doing pretty good, I think.

Its interesting that people like Spidey can be such assholes on the forum and act like they are better than others...yet, nobody knows what they do for a living.

There are structural elements that give a disadvantage to blacks, i.e terrible schools. But, I would argue that it's more the fault that about 50 years ago, racism and segregation were still alive and well in this country. That is a powerful hurdle for anybody to jump.

I have my beefs with affirmative action. I do believe that affirmation action is necessary to narrow some of the hurdles caused by our nations birth defect (slavery, segregation). But I think affirmative action should be socio-economic based. If you can afford to go to sidwell friends, you're parents can afford to give you opportunities (tutors etc). I believe you should not be a candidate for affirmative action and that spot should be given to a person who didn't have that opportunity. But others may disagree.

I think the outrage comes from the fact that many minorities are getting welfare and other benefits, so people are going to be angry at them

How is this thread still going from 1996? Have we solidified the notion yet that these phone were available for years now, well before Obama took office?

I know 3 whole people in my universe that have "obamaphones" made possible by the Telecommunications Act of 1996. Oddly enough... each of those people are:

White
Males
Collect SSI disability or a welfare check
Have a Bridge Card
Have free government provided HealthCare
Already have their own paid for cell phones/service and just keep the crap phone and minutes because they are free
Got these phones back during Bush's presidency when they went on social programs and have never given them up

How again is this an Obama problem? Because of a few stupid assess on youtube and a few racist trolls here?

Oh, that sounds just like Prejudice!

That's cute!

Spidey is taking his anger out on me because I'm a minority. That makes sense!

There are a lot of whites getting welfare and other benefits too, but Spidey is only angry at me because I was born with a natural tan :)

A basement dwelling moron who lives off his wife who works in the public sector.

Not surprising at all.

The louder the right wingers are about socialism/taxes (shit for bored unemployed people to rage about while sitting on their ass listening to someone else care for them) the more likely they are to be unemployed and on the dole.

Just my experiences with them in here.

Their rage is one of impotence and hopelessness, lonely cries for attention in a isolated America disconnected from one another so.

I feel bad for them, but at the same time. F* em if they are gonna go the hater route instead of improving themselves personally. It's so easy to blame one another instead of looking at where the problems of the world lie. Without ourselves first.

A lot of it is alcoholism also I am sure.

Look in the networking forum, that will tell you what I do for a living for the past 20 years.
