However, the riddle isn't really relevant to physics at all.

The riddle was: "I'm thinking of either the number 1, 2, or 3, what is one yes or no question that you could ask to discern which number it is I'm thinking of?"

I tried looking on Google but I didn't even know where to start.

Edit: No, I'm pretty sure the answer is not "What's the number you're thinking of"...that would just suck and be a huge let down.

I'm pretty sure the question has to with something in the math realm or pertaining to the characteristics of the numbers themselves.

Alright, my dad just offered an actual solution besides what you guys said of "What's the number"

He said to ask "Is the number at the beginning or end of the sequence"

If it's at the beginning, it's obviously 1, and if it's at the end, then 3...but if it isn't, they would say "neither" and you would know it's 2

That kinda almost seems like 2 questions you're asking though.

Edit: I think there's one definitive answer for it. Yeah you could ask what's the number come to when you square/cube the number...but if you do that you may as well just revert to asking "what's the number". For what Goosemaster said, that's kinda along the lines of what I would think but you're asking them 3 options to choose from (greater than, equal to, or less than) and it just seems too complicated.
