Its your choice to be a Christian, so we can call you a moronic freak because that is our opinion. Being black is not a choice, so we aren't going to call someone a moronic freak because of something that they do not control.

You can also tell them to kill themselves for being moronic Christian freaks... because, after all, that's your opinion!

Right.. some people just go out of their way to throw out insults at people for no apparent reason. If it makes them feel better about themselves then that's great I guess. But, that's only my opinion.

But, they have to have a reason to throw insults. I'm not going to call someone a moronic freak for no reason.

I could say replace "stick" with "dvck" in the book "This Old Man".

This old man, he played 6. He played knick-knack on my dvck.

Is this what that "Replace born again Christian with black" comment is trying to show? Cuz frankly, you're putting words in his mouth.

...

Are you joking?

In your example, Stick is not offensive. His original post is HIGHLY offensive. My post was showing how offensive it is. If a comment, like his, were made with reference to blacks, or any other group, that kind of a post would not be tolorated. Yet, somehow, calling a person a moronic freak for being married to a christian is ok. Is it ok to call someone a moronic freak for being married to a black person? Of course not, the mods would be on that like mad. Yet it seems to be ok to call someone a moronic freak for being married to a christian. Add on top of that killing themselves for being married to a christian...

Actually if you read the post correctly you would have noticed the born again christian was the one being called the moronic freak, as stated later on in the thread being a Christian is a choice (a moronic one imo too but thats beside the point everybody is entitled to their opinion right or wrong) being black is not, so you're comparing apples to oranges and somehow coming up with bananas.

And don't bother flaming me, you believe in god, I don't neither of us is going to change the others mind so don't even bother trying it's a waste of effort that could be put to better use.

Well then, let's replace it with gay instead of black. Don't bother quoting me sources stating that it is not a choice since I can just easily quote sources that say otherwise.

Cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it. If he thinks Born Again Christians are "Moronic Freaks" that's his perogative. You don't have to agree with him, in fact instead of whining just ignore him. I bet if you did nobody would have paid attention to his post in the first place.

So in that case we don't know if its a choice or not, so you wouldn't call them a moronic freak. What I'm talking about of course is a best case scenario, assuming everyone bases their opinions on some sort of 'correctness'.

But when it comes down to it, you can argue all you want which religion is the fanciest of them all, because you are basing it on opinion. However, you can't go and say such and such a race is inferior or <insert here>sexuality is wrong, because they are uncontrollable as far as we know.

So it's ok to discriminate against one group, but not against another? I bet you that if I were to make a comment about a person should kill themselves because they are married to a black/gay(just came out)/mexican/etc... I would be castrated. But a Christian...oh yea, that is ok

Not any Christian, A Born Again Fund A Mental Case Christian, you know the real annoying type who has to interject that he/she is a Born Again in every conversation they have with others.

1. That was not specified. The comment that was made referred to every christian.
2. That does not matter. Discrimination is discrimination. While I don't like the people you described either, I still find that very offensive.

no, his post specifically says born again.

He sees someone looking like his wife becoming a born again Christian, can't really believe it, goes upstairs, finds a letter from her about it, doesn't want to be known as 'the husband of a moronic freak', and kills himself.

But good lord (had to insert the Name!) the point isn't whether or not one can argue which religion is fanciest, the point is that there was no reason the even 'go there' to begin with. The guy is like some sort of Tourette's (sp?) case that randomly shouts anti-Christian drivel.

Which is a phrase directly out of the Bible, which all Christians follow. Red Dawn chose to apply it to only fundamentalists.

No doubt the guy deserves a vacation, his comments were totally uncalled for and had nothing to do with the thread. If Mill got a vacation for using n!gger, k!ke, and various other racial slurs in a completely unoffensive way, this guy easily deserves a vacation.

I looked up what a born again is. I guess technically it covers most christan groups, but not all christans. But when used in context (as it was) it only refers to one group of radicals. It would be the same as him saying jehova's witnesses instead.

As for the vacation part, I don't believe that he deserves it. Because in our PC society, it is acceptable to bash someone's religion but not their ethnicity.

Let's keep this thread seperate, as your example is not why Mill got a vacation.

that pretty much sums it up.

also, religious people have messed up everything from tradition to culture over the last couple thousand years. They deserve whiplash
