Actually Warren Buffet has said numerous time that the rich in this country do not pay their fair share.

When Mr. Buffet donates all his wealth to charity or government, keeping only enough for a modest living, then I'll listen to him lecture others about giving.......

Its very easy to preach, much more difficult to practice......

Exactly. In Germany social welfare goes to the Ubermench whereas in America it goes to OxyCotin sucking trailer trash.

He's pledged all his money to the Bill and Melinda gates foundation and lives in the house he grew up in which is worth like $500k, i don't know how much more modest he has to live for you.

IIRC, even 7 or 8 the top 10 or so worldwide charities are primarily US funded and based.

The US gives more public and private aid to the world than than the rest of the developed nations combined.

You Canadians can go fucking lecture someone else about having a conscience.

Standing O.

It's really embarrassing how you conservatives use lies to get your point across and then even applaud it... it really is.

Buffett begins donating 85% of his wealth.

He keeps his salary at $100k/year.

I'm been to the outside of his home, it isn't bad, but it certainly isn't that fancy either. Nor is it in an expensive area or even a top neighborhood in Omaha.

Buffett eats mostly hamburgers and fries. I have good friends who are friends of Buffet (more friends with his wife than Warren himself). They can attest that even when eating Thanksgiving meals with Buffett, he eats McDonald's bugers and fries.

True, keeping 15% is still a lot. But he basically is following exactly what you wanted.

Biggest smackdown ever.

Buffet truly is a great person, he's the anti-thesis of your average Republican.

QFT. Ask some Germans what they think of the Turks in their country and you'd know that they don't want to give freebies to Turks.

Aw yes, disparaging someone's race.

I don't believe in just giving the government more money to maybe give out properly. If you really want to help someone, find a local poor working person, or family with kids, and leave something randomly on their doorstep. Also, donate food, people do love to eat and such. Also, homeless shelters can always use funds and volunteers. I've actually been homeless before, so I know first hand that not everyone there is just a bum. Shit happens.

Right there is the problem. He is, frankly, at the end of his life. So NOW he suddenly decides to give away his wealth after enjoying it for decades, and as such thinks all the rest should follow suit?

Hes as crooked and shallow as any liberal, and far more dangerous.

No, he suddenly decided, at age 75 I might add, to start giving it away. This isnt a life philosophy for him. This is something he just suddenly decided to do and thinks we should all do it.

Wait, so its ok for someone to amass BILLIONS and enjoy it but because he has a change of heart at age 75 suddenly no one should ever have the same opportunities??

Makes perfect sense to me.......

There is no virtue in compulsory government charity, and there is no virtue in advocating it. A politician who portrays himself as caring and sensitive because he wants to expand the government's charitable programs is merely saying that he's willing to try to do good with other people's money. Well, who isn't? And a voter who takes pride in supporting such programs is telling us that he'll do good with his own money ? if a gun is held to his head. ? P.J. O'Rourke

If someone wants to change the world fine. Dont force others to follow your views.

This is nothing new at all. Liberals always want to spend other people's money. Just because these are rich liberals that will themselves pay some of the proposed tax changes nothing. If they were as altruistic as you say, they would donate THEIR money to the government, and perhaps run a campaign to encourage others to do the same. Instead they are trying to TAKE money from others through the force of law.

Except he's never really 'enjoyed' his money, you idiot, he's lived frugally all his life (as has been pointed out twice now)

Really? I am sure his idea of frugal differs from most of America. Paying 25,000 dollar a seat dinners equals frugal for you eh?

Anyways I dont know why anybody bothers to engage your idiocy, including myself. Like anybody in this thread believes Buffet is an idiot, or doesnt have valid points. But you paint enough strawman arguments to build a scare crow.
