'Russia saw Obama trying to improve relations and took advantage of his weakness, but Obama's hard line on Russia is trying to start another cold war and so we need Trump to improve relations.'

Awesome logical ouroboros you've constructed there.

Perfectly spherical.

You falsely frame my position once again...surprise, surprise! Sorry, but I don't have time to play your little weasel games today.

In a Facebook post Tuesday morning, Ms. Rice wrote: “Rex Tillerson is an excellent choice for Secretary of State. He will bring to the post remarkable and broad international experience; a deep understanding of the global economy; and a belief in America’s special role in the world.
Some perspective on the decision.

If nothing else, Tillerson knows how to play in the big game & will command respect in the circles where he needs it. He's probably Trump's best pick so far.

It doesn't comport well with the drain the swamp routine, but anybody who ever thought Repubs were capable of such a thing is probably delusional.

"Drain the swamp" probably means vastly different things to different people. Purging DC insiders could be one interpretation.

Who are you and where is Jhhnn's body?

They're all Repub party insiders, one way or another. Their agenda is basically the GWB agenda, just with more feeling.

What I've noticed when Trump nominates another Big Business Corporatist for a cabinet post or another firmly entrenched career establishment politician who wanted get rid of the department he is picking them for, is that for every one of these people he picks, he is giving the middle class folks who put him in office a big fat little middle finger and a hearty "Gotch'a, fooled ya, ha ha ya gullible idiots".

That these folks are apparently just fine with being royally screwed like that is amazing. Or is it too shameful for them to admit it, or is it being in a state of denial that's keeping them from telling Trump what a lying backstabber he is?

The undeniable naked truth is there for all to see in the appointments that Trump wants to make.

Or is he attempting to expose to the world how fixed and corrupt our gov't has become?

If he is, then hell of a job there Donny boy!

Either way, people who are not millionaires+ are about to get fucked, which is the vast majority of people.

The plutocrats have all come out from hiding inside their palatial mansions and towering office suites and are making their intentions known that there will be no mercy given to the peasants. The peasants will be reckoned with and put in their rightful place as property to be dealt with sans compassion, sympathy or an ounce of generosity. They will be taxed into poverty just like the days of old so that they are weakened to the point where they present no threat to the ruling class.

This is the attitude that reeks from their country clubs and the tennis courts that embellish their estates.

These are the folks that have total control of the gov't now that one of their very own and those like-minded corrupted lackeys in the Legislature are in control of it all.

Because it's just business, you see. Nothing personal.

And the folks that gave these buzzards the keys to the White House and the Treasury now have no say in how they thought the gov't would protect their interests and concerns, nor do I think they care because if they did care, they'd be at this very minute shouting at the top of their lungs how Trump had betrayed them wholesale and that he should honor the promises he made to them.

But I guess even that won't matter anymore seeing as if Trump already got from them that single thing that he thought they were useful for......until the next presidential election comes around.

And trust him again they will.

Bill Gates pimped Tillerson to Trump.
I think you mean Robert Gates along with Condi Rice. They were working for Tillerson.

BTW - all you Trump cuckolds I guess you will be happy with $5 gas in a year.

Stupid righties blamed Obama for >$4 gas during his term. Here you have a regime who have hired people who can actually effect the price of oil.

Wonder of the TC's will revolt when it hits them in the wallet?

They're still flush with a sense of victory about what they know not. Whatever it turns out to be, they think it must be wonderful. They're beguiled.

Repubs have been winning at top down class warfare battles for 35 years. Now they'll try to win the war, lock down the power of the plutocracy for decades to come.

As a result of what policy?

That's an interesting question because it would appear that most moves (policies) would result in lower prices. So will we see even lower prices or will we see policies that would cause prices to go up, like limiting supply, increasing demand (like turning back fuel efficiency standards) or a decrease in competition (ie a rise in monopolies)?

I thought I've read that trump isn't a fan of Saudi Arabia so I would guess that his policies would be to hurt them while lifting sanctions off of Russia to allow them to fill the gap. Russia being Russia will do what it takes to get a rise in oil prices so we can probably expect more conflicts in oil producing nations or with supply chains.

We shall see though.
