Hey Dug, do you recall seeing on the News back at the start of the year, the massive Bushfires around Junee which killed 3 people...that was started by a ciggy butt...we could see the flames from where I lived 60 kays away...that was a huge fire

Think i caught it on the news. My folks moved to Canberra just after the fires, they were some crazy shiat too.

My parents lived a Goulburn at the time of those fires....I remember visiting them when that was occuring and you couldn't see 3 feet in front of you the smoke was that thick.

Yeah, they never found any of the tens if not hundreds of tonnes of lead used on the roof of Mt Stromlo observatory, the fires were so hot up there that it just vapourised :Q

yeah, those fires were crazy...the police believe that a couple of local teenagers were responsible for lighting those fires.

Littering is already illegal. Shall we ban food wrappers as well since I see those all over the highway?

Shall we ban eating in public since I see food wrapper litter everywhere?

And until you can prove that occasional exposure to very light ETS in an outdoor environment is harmful, I see no reason to ban smoking outdoors. (Hint, it's not)

I won't even go into the argument of how businesses are PRIVATE property.

Here is a clue: You cannot control behavior effectively by becoming a tyrant. Bans cause more probems than they solve.

While I support peoples right to smoke cigarettes if they choose, I don't appreciate when I'm forced to breath their smoke or to see the extra litter they produce by throwing butts on the ground because its more convenient. Contrary to popular belief, considerate smokers do exist, it seems they are the tiny minority though & its too bad they have to suffer because of all the slobs who share the habit.

I do not EVVVAARRRR support anyone's right to spread cancer (2nd hand smoke), or destroy other people property (like a lit cig ruining my seat cover), or inflict bodily harm (like the guy who got burned by some jackass's lit cig landing in his lap).
