I'm talking getting the rear bumper of your car 6" or less from the curb/wall/whatever. I hate to get out of my car sometimes and see like 2 feet of space still available at the rear. :frown:

I think it's also weird that despite cars becoming so advanced, electronically, we still don't have things like parking sensors for front and rear coming standard from most manufacturers.

You guys got any special tricks/techniques to back it up just right like the pros or are some people just not that cool. 🙁
 
Practice. Angle your wing mirrors down so you can see the curb/lines and your tires to measure distance.

that's how I park it before becoming experienced =P

I can park my truck backwards without paying too much attention better than most people can park small cars forwards. I attribute 90% of it to knowing it's length and width.

Around here, that's close to how it's done. Parking is all parallel and if you find a spot it'll be tight. Back up until you tap the car behind you. Pull forward a couple inches. Usually nothing breaks, but all the bumpers have plenty of scuffs.

Live around here a while and the OCD people who freak out with posts like, "OMG a car parked next to me at the mall. Horrors!" will be cured quickly.

At least it was when cars had wing windows.
 
is it me or does it seem that cars just keep getting taller rear decks, smaller rear windows and bigger blind spots...cars that I had back in the 80's/90's had excellent visibility out the back window (the rear decks seemed much lower) and smaller blind spots...it took awhile to get used to my 05 TL, especially because of the headrests for the back seat...
