Same order as above ... ordered a 6 pack of 3' LAN cables for under $12, less than $2 each which was a better per each price than the single cable I really needed.

Package that arrived was a bit thicker than I expected. Inside were TWO six packs of LAN cables, both in one sealed poly bag from the seller, so under a buck each.

Ordered a pizza I had never had before. Completely vegan and it was amazing! Vegan cheese tastes better than real cheese (had no idea!). I feel completely full and not in a bad bloated way but in a fully satisfied, satiated way. WILL order again if I'm able to (it was half price with free delivery. Would be too costly otherwise).

Not sure about vegan cheese, but gluten free crusts on frozen pizza are better than the real thing.

I looked that up and the common thing I found with vegan cheese is tapioca starch. I think that's the secret ingredient responsible for the great taste.

Strangely enough, they have some vegan chili mixes that are really good. You have to go in knowing what you're getting, but I was really surprised.

My good thing today is that it looks like St. Louis will finally start returning to normal after a week of being snowed in. I feel bad for package delivery people - they're a week behind at this point.

Got 12 lbs of lean protein this morning for 25 bucks. Yes its 11 lbs of chicken breast and a lb of X large shrimp, but that can feed the 2 of us for 3 weeks if need be. I'll grab some beef intermittently when it goes on sale, and pork is inexpensive daily. 25 bucks will barely cover one fast food for 2 at micky d's.

Woke up this morning and got ready to leave and my battery was dead.

Now I am sitting in a nice warm house drinking coffee while my battery charges.

Pretty cool feature is now on Google Messages. When you are texting via your browser on your laptop or desktop, if you want to insert a photo you can now select any photo from your phone's camera roll, as well as a locally saved photo on that device. All via Google Photos.

Pretty damn nifty.

Looking at my gas bill and saving lot of money so far with the wood stove. The heat pump water heater is probably helping a lot too... Still been running the furnace fairly regularly too as I'm still working out the best way to move the heat upstairs faster but nice to see it's still making a big difference. My regular equal billing plan dropped from $170ish to around $100. I have a couple hundred of credit too so I suspect I won't pay anything all summer as they will use up the credit.

Going to finish on my wood storage shelter then start working on next year's wood supply asap once the snow is gone.

IDK if it's a good thing, definitely not bad, but just had a chat with my City Manager. He told me the majority of the City Council is advocating (and flat out assuming) for me to take over his position when he retires at the end of the year. He only said majority because he hasn't talked with the rest of the council, but he believes they'd be in favor also. He's mentioned to them they need to speak to me before they make any assumptions.

I'm definitely interested in the position, but I've only been director for about 1.5 years and if I leave this position, it's going to be extremely difficult to fill, primarily because the pay is low for the title (it's actually really good for where I live, just low in general for the position) and I know I'd end up having to work both positions for a good while. Plus there things I'm working on I'd like to see implemented but they're going to take a long time to put in place.

Anyways, I'm leaning on sticking it out in this position for a few more years and seeing what happens.

That's quite a position to be in! I want to congratulate you... but then again you might just be taking on more responsibility for no increase in happiness?

I've been using windows powertoys for a while but using some of them today I just felt very happy.

I use the pin window to top of screen, image resizer, and peek. Simple but great stuff.

I'm doing a test run of my fractional distillation setup and it all fits together and seems to work pretty well. Kind of neat to watch, even though it's just water right now.

Some of the packages I was complaining about in the FWP thread arrived today after they initially said the weather was too bad.
