Plant a few red woods, I say.
Soon enough :^D

I'm doing my part with the trees. You get to my lot, and it's a wall of green. There's cornfield subdivisions around here that still look like cornfields. McMansions poking out of the ground with a couple bushes, and maybe a kiddie tree or two. Looks like shit, and it's inefficient. They get raped by wind in the winter, then raped by sun in the summer. Trees will pay better dividends than a solar array ever will.

It's my last shift then I'll be off for 8 days!

Also since it's Thanksgiving I'm racking in the $$. double time + 8 hours. Ends up being like 32 hours of pay for one day lol. Then add Sunday premium from yesterday on top of that. Always lucrative to work a long weekend.

We had Monday off of work for Columbus Day, so I took off Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Today I went into work, saw ~60 e-mails, and zeroed in on the one that said COMPANY BBQ TODAY! Ahhhhh yes. :D Most weeks don't get much better than that.

Is she hot? I might just move in. :D

We're going vrbo or Airbnb. Friends have a similar unit going for $70/night. We have winter colony horse people that stay for 4 or 5 months (30% reduction for monthly's) and transient professionals/engineers that work at SRS and Viacom. So think furnished like a vacation condo.

Got 25' of Stihl saw chain today. It was supposed to come with six presets, but they gave me a shit ton of them, and they come with back straps. I had to reuse the bent backstraps on the presets I bought earlier this year. Looks like good chain too. Better than the Chinese crap I got at HomeDepot. Can't wait to try it out.

I got an 18" handle for my full size work axe today. Been looking for this >20 years. I always had to buy a full length handle and cut it down. It'll be nice having the deer foot on the end. I also got some hardened 60d nails I'm pretty excited about. I only bought 1# til I get them tested, but if they work out, they'll be pretty useful.

Cholesterol is still a bit high, 233 but my HDL is 99 and tri's 67. Risk ratio is ~1/2 expected. Not that these numbers mean anything if I get run over by a blue hair while riding my bike.

Finally found a good use for my war axe. It works well for cutting vines off trees. The head's small, so it fits in tight crevices, and the light weight minimizes damage to the bark. Pretty niche, but it beats a blank.

I ordered a new kitchen sink off Amazon late last night, and VM Innovations had the best price so I ordered from them. As I got into bed I had second thoughts - what if the sink arrives damaged? I should probably spend the extra $17 in tax and order it from Amazon, as I know they're easy to deal with and VM has a lot of poor reviews. So I cancelled the order and did that.

This morning I went to the sink's product page on Amazon and saw that the Amazon price had dropped by $25! Chatted with a support agent, got the second order cancelled, and ordered it again at the lower price. Hooray for second thoughts!
