From the linked hit piece-

The part that really stuck out to me was when I overheard the rep say that Jarrett told them, “After we win this election, it’s our turn. Payback time. Everyone not with us is against us and they better be ready because we don’t forget. The ones who helped us will be rewarded, the ones who opposed us will get what they deserve. There is going to be hell to pay.

So, uhh, it's a "source" telling the author what somebody else supposedly said, somebody who isn't Jarrett...

Gossip projected as fact by those with guilty consciences...

Anybody else remember when Dubya spouted "With Us or Against Us!" & Repubs used that to attack & smear all enemies, foreign & domestic?

It's no wonder that Righties are flinching at the idea of an Obama victory, because they're projecting what they'd do onto Obama, what they've actually done in the past...

again posting articles (no matter who they bitch about) that the source is someone who heard it from someone that said they heard "so and so" say something is not news.

Give it up, Montezuma. :p

To the victor goes the spoils. I suspect that this is no more than "I have another mandate and therefore more political capital. Time to spend it." Where have we seen that before? I'll take Obama's "revenge" anyday compared to the revenge of Wall Street robber barons like Mitt Romney.

What kind of paranoid crap do you read? It doesn't even make sense.

since when has cool cat Obama been about anger and vengeance? His time to kick congress' ass was two years ago and he didn't do it then.

Yep. Too bad his first 100 days in office didn't look like FDR's first 100 days. If it had, we'd be on our way out of this economic mess, and the 2010 election never would have come out the way it did.

Dems dithered in the face of a crisis, exactly the wrong thing to do. In such circumstances, people want strong leadership & direction, even if it turns out to be wrong somewhere down the road. The electorate would have embraced a new New Deal, but got business as usual instead.

"there may be, quite literally, hell to pay for those who opposed him."

How does one literally pay hell?

Also, thanks for the blatant confirmation that Conservative news outlets are in bed with partisan shills and plan their news cycles to actively campaign against Democrats.

fdr didn't fix the economy, he only made the situation worse

The government was responsible for the recession yet conveniently blamed Wall Street and then with the bailouts and stimulus only made the situation worse

Revisionist history at its worst, folks. Go talk to the nearest person still alive that lived through that era. Reject the lies.

Tyranny not found.

Trading with the Enemy Act of 1917

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trading_with_the_Enemy_Act_1917

The Trading with the Enemy Act of 1917 (40 Stat. 411, enacted 6 October 1917, codified at 12 U.S.C. § 95a et seq.), sometimes abbreviated as TWEA, is a United States federal law to restrict trade with countries hostile to the United States. The law gives the President the power to oversee or restrict any and all trade between the U.S. and its enemies in times of war. In 1933 the U.S. Congress amended the act by the passage of the Emergency Banking Relief Act which extended its scope regarding the hoarding of gold to include any declared national emergency and not just those declared solely during times of war. President Franklin D. Roosevelt then used these new authorities to essentially outlaw gold ownership through the issuance of Executive Order 6102. These restrictions continued until January 1, 1975. The Act has been amended several other times.[1]
The Trading with the Enemy Act is often confused with the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, which grants somewhat broader powers to the President and is invoked during states of emergency when not at war.
As of 2008, Cuba is the only country restricted under the act. North Korea is the most recent country to have the restrictions lifted.[2]
