Do you have proof the Z06 rapes it, or is that just heresay, like usual?

Either way the 911 is at least a thousand times sexier than the Z06, and isn't built like sh!t. I still love the video of the Z06 owner getting his ass handed to him by a wrx in a drag race.

0-60 in 3.3 seconds for the Z06.

that was no stock WRX, and that was no C6 ZO6
You're right it wasn't a stock WRX but it was a stock C5 Z06.
I'd be willing to bet that modified WRX would still beat the stock C6 Z06. The modified WRX destroyed the Z06, and I know the new Z06 wouldn't make much of a difference. Point is that a little itty bitty 4cyl import spanked the pinnacle of American sports car, that's embarassing.

You're still basing your opinion off of numbers on paper, which everyone knows means very little.
I would still bet my bottom dollar on the new 911 over the new Z06. Porsche is still a vastly superior manufacturer and car. Anyone who says they would rather roll around in a vette over a 911 is nickle and diming themselves. Don't get me wrong, I love the new vette, but it I had a choice I would always take the porsche, as would the vast majority of people.

and i could smoke that WRX with a GTO, or an old 5.0, or an old station wagon if i were to mod it... modded vs stock is NOT a fair comparison EVER.

The new Z06 seemed like a bargain at first, but all the issues arising on the user forums, plus the infamous GM build quality have now brought it back to reality. The fact is, a Ferrari F430, a Porsche 911 Turbo or a Lamborghini Gallardo would be a better car, and for all practical purposes, just as fast or faster than a Z06, and way more driveable.

And a 911 Turbo would walk a C6 Z06 at highway speeds. Although it appears that the gearing would leave the Z06 with a top speed advantage. Too bad, you'd think Porsche would just go ahead and build a 200mph 911 Turbo by now. They could if they wanted to.

no way, the corvette is probably the most "daily driveable" in summer climates of all of them, its hatchback design allows for tons of space.

and what GM issues? i know of one or 2 issues that have been talked about.

My guess would be the 997 Turbo would be the easiest of those to drive daily, and drive fast. The 996TT was an incredibly easy car to live with and was very very easy to extract a lot of performance out of it, even with little skill.

The F430 and Gallardo would not be the daily drivers the Z06 would be. Between the extremely low noses, high cost, small trunkspace, higher strung engines, low fuel economy, and relatively poor outward visibility, the Z06 would be an easier car to live with day to day. However, on the track, it could be argued that it's easier for most to get better times with those cars than the Corvette.

except you need to sell both of your t3sticles just to buy one

face it though - the Z06 is an amazing car. it competes with stuff up to 10x its price in its category. that's unreal

Honestly, it may not. Heck, a bone stock BMW M5 will walk a 996 Turbo. In fact, it'll stay virtually neck and neck with a 996 Turbo X50 with 510HP Techart Package. The C6 Z06 has even more pull at high speeds.

Thats retarded. They wouldn't ever build a 200mph+ 911 that would put it into a whole other marketing bracket.

Thats where the DB9, Vanquish, Koenigsegg CCR, the Lambo Mucielago, the Enzo and the Carrera GT play at.

That being said in the article it says that Porsche underestimates their top speeds. The last gen 911 was rated top speed at 189 and they got it to 192.

Porsche: There is no substitute.

I really can't think of another car brand that exudes sophistication, masculinity, understated elegance, exclusivity, and precision all at once. Porsche is the "Mont Blanc" of the car world.

How does this look any different then the last generation? Oh wait, thats right - it doesn't because its a Porsche and it never changes. Worse is that everyone eats it up.

although i love the C6 Z06, i wouldnt say that the Z06 would rape this car. Porsches are known to be one of the best handling cars in the world. I'd love to see those 2 duel it out on a race track (not drag strip)

besides, 911 Turbo is in a whole different class than the Z06 (in terms of refinement)
and Porsche > GM

Proof of said handling godliness? I find that hard to believe. Don't forget, we are talking about an American car here. Americans can't comprehend anything but straight roads.

Have you ever been inside a 911? They're a full on luxury car (hence the hefty weight.) Plus AWD, plus Porsche refinement. Definitely a better daily driver than the C6 Z06.

You're thinking Aston Martin.

That gets you flamed on these forums XD. But I have to agree with you really. I never really liked the front end of porsches at all. But I'd still drive one.

My 1973 SD TransAm with a blue printed and modified 455 (to 8.0L+) had well over 500BHP and only cost me $1500

The Blue Devil is still coming? I thought it was cancelled and the SS was live.

I don't care what they call it, as long as they build it

where in the world are you getting your unreasonable info from? the 0-60 is 3.7 at best and the handling is a mere opinion...

edit: haha edmunds even lists it as 4.5s ( a little exaggerated)

All in all the corvette is still the best bang for the buck, but i doubt it will ever have the sophistication, finesse, refinement, and passion of a european sports car...

Hmmm new Porsche!
I dunno if I love it or not.
Fugly looking cars most of the times, but then some parts of it make it exotic!
Still I would love to have one over the Vettes.
Vettes just arn't built as well as porsches and arn't as easy to handle unless you have high skill.
As a daily driver I might go with the Vette as it is cheaper and has "more" power (your not going to drive like a maniac on the streets), but then I really like AWD/4x4 on the roads. So much more better in the rain and snow. I guess if you live down south there really isn't that much need for AWD/4x4.

Camaro in late 07 early 08.
Blue Devil next year,
no more Z06
Vette SS.

so far, that article is pretty good for 2 of the 4 ive said.
