Hey all, know this is a bit off topic, but I figured everyone here is likely to be pretty experienced with the whole return runaround.
Here's the lowdown - Bought a NEC AccuSync 120 21" from Tigerdirect for $299 (plus $55 shipping). Thought that was a pretty hot deal, even for a lower end 21 incher refurb. Got it a couple of weeks ago, all is good until a couple of days ago, when the monitor starts getting a green tint and bluring. Needless to say, it's going back.
Now the problem. Tigerdirect makes you call the maker first, to get some sort of return authorization. When I talked to NEC they seemed fine about replacing it, but they would not pick up on the postage. Same deal with Tiger. This wouldn't be so bad if we were talking about a CPU or something, but this monitor weighs over 70 pounds!
The basic question is, has anyone out there had to deal with either of those companies in terms of returns, and what was the outcome in terms of return shipping. I guess I've been pretty lucky, as I've ordered from about a dozen different places online in the past couple of months, all with zero problems. Just sucks to get stuck with a 70 pound dud.
This is not a Hot Deal, ergo you CAN NOT post it in the Hot Deals forum, especially when we, the mighty and benificent Mods, have gone to the trouble of supplying special Mod sponsored threads for just such questions and complaints.
Use them, we won't be asking you again.
