I located a Best Buy within 45 minutes of my home with the 22" LG L227WTG-PF in stock. Armed with the knowledge and expertise of xtknight I drove there a week ago today and found the monitor display to the rear of the store.
They had 5 separate 22" monitors displayed near each other with movies playing. I did not know if the L227 was even being displayed. I also had no idea what brands were the others and kept a considerable distance to get a good view of all without having to move.
I fully understand there are hundreds of factors which can effect each one displayed. I chose the one I thought had the best picture. I got closer to see which brand and you guessed it ,the L227. The only other one that was close to the picture quality was a Samsung. It had a dullness to it though that was really amplified being next to the L227.
I chose a lucky box of about 4 on the sales floor and paid with tax a total of $307. The whole way home I was concerned it may have dead pixels.
Best Buy has a 14 day return policy so I was able to wait until last night to actually connect it to a PC I custom built and finished yesterday.
I plugged it in, turned on the PC and the Asus splash screen appears bright and pixel FREE. Woohoo. /phew
After loading all the software yesterday and today I am patching Warhammer Online as I type this to game test the monitor. It is still only beta but it will still be a decent test.
Everything else looks great and no complaints. The brightness default is 100% so I turned that down to 75% but that is all I touched.
Does anybody have some good game settings for the L227they can share? This is my first LCD.
Thank you xtknight and this forum. Thumbs up for the L227.
