No offense Mister Jackson, but I think your logic sucks. Just because I'm not a manager does not mean anything I said was untrue or out of line. It was all 100% factual and relevant. I also did not add any personal insults in my emails, the manager did.

I understand your point about corporate politics, and they are dually noted. Thats not the point though. The point is my manager is a fucking retard. Look at the way he spells/talks for christs sake. He's THE FUCKING MANAGER. He is supposed to have good written and verbal communication skills. He writes worse than a 6th grader. Not to mention he is personally insulting me in the email, directly. He may take what I said as an insult (as he should, he doesn't do his fucking job) but I did not insult him directly. If he's offended by me calling a cow a cow, then thats his fucking fault, ya?

Oh the ironing...

Anyhow my friend, you miss the point entirely. I'm not defending him. If he was here, I'd say the same damn thing to him.

You both were stupid. Just you more so than him because you DON'T call out your manager like that unless he's doing something illegal/unethical.

You'll understand one day. Hopefully this whole situation disgusts you enough that you decide to never work for anyone else again, go out on your own, and form the largest company in the world that is wholy yours.

Until then, if you take a contract for employment somewhere you work by their rules and not your own.

Since we are all into this whole correcting thing tonight, its "wholly" 🙂

I did chuckle at the OP's latest response though... Dually! Classic!!

Just to add to the fun, you misused the word "since" -- contrary to popular belief, it is not interchangeable with the word "because."

You were slightly disrespectful and he's an ass. However, the impact of your slight disrespect is likely to be greater than the impact of annoying false alarms as it relates to you personally. I imagine he's now chomping at the bit hoping for a reason, any reason, to fire you.

Actually, I do believe that since can, as one of its meanings, be used in place of because/inasmuch. It's more colloquial, but as far as I know, it's still grammatically correct.

not going to read all of the responces, but to the OP, First, you should not have called him out. Second, if you want something fixed talk to them, email is useless and people like to ignore it when there are problems.

Spot on. The 1st email was fine, even if your manager was an ass after that you have to deal with it, that's your boss. Just because you get your bachelors and get paid more doesn't mean you are never going to have to deal with an idiot boss ever again. Emails like the ones you subsequently sent would get you fired at any "real" job imo, or at the very least disciplined.

When they say they want to "empower" their workers, they lie. If you fall prey to that trap, you end up in matches such as this. You'll know by what happens next.
Odds are the OP gets a "talking to", the mangler gets a "talking to", and the status remains quo. Everyone's happy, or at least complacent.

You sound like cuda1447's boss and you know what people think of him in here. The A word comes to mind.

Your condescending attitude sucks.

Indeed.

Your first email was immature and did not need all of the stupid caps and !!!! at the end. That was lame and worthless with the added bonus of diminishing your credibility. At work, you don't write emails with ~!~ , !!!!, or "OMG I HATE [insert complaint]." I would have said something like this:

Some of the alarms are still malfunctioning and I am concerned that this could lead to customer annoyance or increased theft. The only way I know how to deal with this is to turn the alarm off, but I am hesitant to do so for obvious reasons. The Motorola Rizr is one of the more common interruptions but several others are having issues as well. Please have this problem addressed or let me know if I can do anything to help.

Guys,

The alarm on the Motorola Rizr is malfunctioning again. Three things happens when this occurs. It slows down the flow of traffic, as the reps have to constantly go turn them off. It annoys our customers, as its very loud. Also, eventually a key is just left in the alarm until traffic slows down because reps cannot go turn it off every 3 minutes. This means that the alarms are worthless because they won't go off with the key in them and anyone can steal a phone. When the alarms do go off constantly though it doesn't matter. Its like the boy crying wolf. When the alarms are constantly malfunctioning we don't think it's a real threat. That means if the alarm does go off and its legit nobody moves real quick because it's a common occurrence..brb. Ok back, sorry had to go turn off the alarm, it just went off AGAIN~!~

Please guys, can we figure out how to get this fixed. I think I speak on behalf of the team when I say I HATE THE ALARMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cuda

He responded immaturely and unprofessionally, but so did you. Also, sending it out to everyone instead of the managers was a mistake which should have been easily avoided. If you really wanted to let the other employees know you escalated the issue, you could have sent them a separate email saying something like "I sent an email to management about the alarm problem and I just wanted to let everyone know so we don't bombard them with emails about this. I'll update you when I hear back."

Overall, you did a terrible job at handling this and you need to learn how to function in the work place before you get a real job.

Ditto.

This is the real world. I'm a manager too and if one of my people called me out in front of everybody on a problem I could do nothing about things wouldn't go well for him.

Best Response.

You're a bit annoying in your delivery and perhaps lacking in email etiquette. But your supervisor is a POS. If both of you worked for me, I may or may not have been annoyed with your email, but that email from your supervisor would put him on my POS list forever.
