Try Gamestop?
I've seen them for $19.99 (I think) at Babbage's B&Ms
>>

The Babbages B&M here has used ones for $19.99 and new ones for $24.99. There was a guy selling them on Ebay last weekend, and I put in a bid on one but got sniped at the last second.

Well, for anyone who's interested, I bought one of those S-Video cables. Got it on EBay for $5 (the last of the big spenders I guess). Anyway, I hooked this baby up to my 27" TV and fired up my Dreamcast. What a disappointment. The colors were all washed-out. It seemed to eliminate some of the "heat waves" in the background of some games, but that's the only good thing I can say about it.

Maybe it was just because it was cheap. I really don't know. But anyway, I reinstalled the regular DC cables.

Anyone have any experience or opinions on these things?

ChuckG,

The quality of S-video should definitely be better than your "regular" RCA jack cables. Perhaps you're getting some interference or the S-video cable you bought is bad.

I bought a MadCatz S-video cable from Walmart for ~$10. Works great.

Also bump for the petition. doubt it will help, but it can't hurt...besides like someone else said it takes 15 seconds to fill out. ;)

Bump for this great thread! If anyone comes across some cheap controllers, please post it. All the deals mentioned in the thread seem to be gone now, and I'd like to get more than 1 controller :(

I'm glad I got 2 DC, when it was only $50. One for the living room and one for my room. I use it to watch VCD, which is awsome.

Go to your yellow pages and call all the store that sell video games, You'll bound to find one that still sell it $50.

According to Target, all stores should have Tennis 2K2 for $20.90

But here is the hottest dreamcast deal:
Check your local Gamestop/Funcoland for the DC Broadband adapter. In the very rare event that they have one, they will sell it for $19.99 . I stumbled upon one a couple weeks ago, got it for $20, and sold it on eBay for $135.

I prefer the Dream Pads: 6 buttons on the face (better for fighting games) and a more ergonomic shape (easier on the wrists).

Can't really post this to the list, since mileage will OBVIOUSLY vary widely on this one, but definitely something to keep your eyes peeled for folks!

I almost had one. It was labeled as a BBA, but it was a controller converter. :(

I see you have Lego Racers 2 listed for $40 at Best Buy. I believe that is a mis-print by Best Buy and it is actually for the Game Boy Advance. I don't think Lego Racers was made for the Dreamcast...

Anyway, I'm still waiting for my MvC2 to arrive from Amazon. Should be here today....:D

Keep posting them deals!!!

At Target today saw:

NFL 2K: $4.94
NFL 2K1: $4.94 (already mentioned by someone else).
NBA 2K1: $4.94

If only I gave a rat's ass about sports games. ;)

Atrac - It really is a shame that you don't care for sports games. The 2k series are the BEST sports game I've ever played. The 2k1's at that price are a steal, as is the NCAA 2k2 game for 19.99 at Best Buy. The sports games are the only reason that I picked up the Dreamcast. I highly recommend these games to everyone!

Bubba - I was at EB in Eden Prairie Center yesterday and asked about DC's for you--they have one pre-owned DC left. I think it was $60. Didn't know if that interested you or not, but there you go!
