This morning my Girlfriends pet cat "Cliffy" died at the vet while under going medical treatment because he was baited(poisoned) by some slack bastard yesterday.
I'm not much of a cat person but I had grown to love this little fur ball as he always could put a smile on your face from his funny antics, wether it be chasing his tail for hours on end or falling out of a tree, he could always make you laugh.
My Girlfriend is especially heartbroken as it was her first pet cat ever and had put a lot of time and effort in to looking after him, they were practically inseparable, where she was, he was.
Cliffy was a good natured cat who didn't have an aggressive bone in his body, he never scratched or hissed at anybody, not even my young sisters who used to carry him around by the scuff of the neck and tread on him as he chased them about the back yard.
Cliffy was a 7 and half month old Siamese/Russian blue cross male kitten, he was completely grey except for some white patches on his belly and paws.
He was a happy cat, always purring and rubbing up against your legs when he wasn't eating bugs or his favourite cat food - Whiskas Pilchards and Whiting.
The vet who had tried to help poor Cliffy had made it pretty clear that he was deliberately poisoned by commercial baits that are used to killed foxes/wild dogs and feral cats.
He also told me that this has been happening quite a lot lately.
He was burried in his favourite blanket, with his teddy that he had chewed to bits, under the tree he was used to get stuck up or fall out of.
We only knew him for a short time but he enriched our lives forever and will be loved and remembered.
Goodbye my furry little mate, you will be missed
I'm sorry I couldn't protect you and let you down.
