If you want to be taken seriously, you need to use correct spelling and grammar. If you want to learn how to write a letter of complaint, watch the old movie Summer School.

;)

The company will take you more seriously if you don't have typos in the first sentence.

Seriously though, for a $1000+ purchase. Should I not get a freakin' REMOTE???? How about getting the fourth wheel (caster) so my nice shiney TV isn't teetering in the living room?

yeah you should have received those items. The minimum wage worker at the store shouldn't have gave you grief. thats what needed to be focused on in the letter. Your letter just seemed very bloated.

She is apparently treated in a VERY rude and harsh fashion (to the point she is in tears when she calls me) after some red-haired, short, skinny, kid talked down to her.

What is it that actually happened? What did he say? Why did she feel it was rude and harsh? You need to be more specific . What you've said tells them nothing.

What do you want from them? You need to tell them.

Sorry your wife was made to feel bad. That shouldn't happen. :(

I wasn't implying you are an idiot, just making a point that proofreading is essential.

The main point of my post was to ask what you feel the store should do to make you feel better.

They replaced the tv, and I'd be willing to bet the manager reprimanded the employee if you described him well enough to make an ID.

Really, what else should you be entitled to? Why keep raising a bigger stink about it?

Seeing as how the manager in-store took care of it, why are you writing a letter? Get the kid fired, sure, but the company DID take care of you.

-5/10 for rant

Why raise a bigger stink? Because now I am going to have these guys come in and out of my house with a TV. I have to arrange for someone to be there (again). Everything that will happen next week should have happened Monday afternoon. That is what I paid for.

As for my letter, yes it was bloated. But I got another call from HH Gregg inviting me back to the store to meet with the manager. Not something that I really feel is an advantage, but at least the squeeky wheel got the grease, right?

Needless to say, I found out that the item that was delivered to me was open box. On top of that, the item has a scratch somewhere on it? Also, there was a checklist on the item that showed it was mising the caster and remote, but the sales guy never showed me that paper and never sent it to the delivery guys. Needless to say, this clusterf@#$ is due to HH Gregg...Any rate, it will be considered resolved when my TV is in place, showing a picture, and I am able to change the channel from the couch.

just so you know, all the comments on your original choice of avatar are because it is the one most often picked by spammers. frankly, i think you should have lodged a complaint to the BBB. posting it here may save all the 152 thousand members of this forum the horrible service mentioned in your OP, but it won't help anybody else.

You're getting a new TV. The manager was nice to you. What else do you want?

Your letter is unclear as to whether the salesman's real name is 'Junior'. It is also unclear as to exactly what delivery terms were promised to you by Junior. Did he actually state that you would get a delivery the next day AFTER 5 PM?

Your TV was missing pieces. What do you expect the delivery guys to do? They could either just take the whole thing back, in which case you'd be missing the TV for another day, and your wife would have to leave work early again, or they could leave it. They should have offered to drop off the missing pieces though, AND install the missing caster. Are you sure they did not suggest this option?

You did not provide the name of the insulting employee. This is the part which I suspect that you're really mad about. You want revenge. You want this snotty little jerk fired. Fine.

What if the store has two employees that fit your description? Also, you failed to provide exact descriptions of what exactly caused your wife to start crying. For all management knows, your wife starts crying if she can't figure out which dress to wear. You have provided no evidence of wrongdoing by a specific person.

And yeah, your grammar suxors. And I read this version "Edited: 11/22/2006 at 10:58 AM by jonjoyner83"

It's just that most spammers don't bother changing the default black guy avatar, and have a post count less than 10. Since it has happened so often here, anyone with the black guy avatar and a low post count is a suspected spammer.

That is his nickname, Junior. That is even who the managered named as the salesman.

no option was offered, we had a three-legged tv for all they cared

No true...okay, maybe a little.

They don't. They know exactly who I was talking about. And, in fact, it seems like this guy has had other complaints before.

sry, kthxbye....I could have done worse. I could have used ALL CAPS!!!!! RAWR!!!

The one delivered was an open box, floor model special...Not a new one.
They did not offer to drop off and/or install the caster. No remote was offered. Instead, I think they relized their goof and had a new TV qued for delivery.

I bought a plasma from HHG. I guess I exuded bad vibes because the salesman didn't even mention the extended warranty or other BS

You gotta know what you're doing when you shop there, and the sales people are incompetent. I had to show two salesmen how to use THEIR sales software. But I did end up with a cheap TV delivered on time in one piece. The retailer will probably fail after a couple of years.

To the OP: Take down names. I thought it was funny how you kept emphasizing the red-headed kid.

Anyone notice that is PAB's avatar??

That thread sounded like his drivel.

Oh, and not once do you say what the red haired kid actually said or did.

Okay....I am not sure on what he said...But how he said it. His tone and demeanor were disrespectful. If I am going to pay 1K+ for a TV from your store, I better get at least common courtesy. I can go somewhere else and buy the TV at a cheaper price and get that same crappy service from someone else. I go in a reputible store expecting high quality customer service....of course, maybe I am just delusional now. Maybe my view on customer service is skewed.

Regardless, once you are married you learn that if it is her problem, it is your problem. In turn, I had to fight her battle...which is fine. Some of you unwed individuals will learn this someday.

As for names; I wish she had taken them down. I know that the sales guy "Junior" is actually Andrew. The manager is Mike Adams. I take down names...I guess she had welps in her eyes obstucting her view...I bet if he had bothered to tell her his name, she would have remembered.

Red-hair is not the point. That was the only thing she gave me to work with. Sorry, no details other than that. I bet I could walk in the store and find that little puke though.

My point is the transaction went bad. I traded $1000 for a 51" HDTV to be delivered to my home on Monday afternoon, not next week (which is the earliest it can be replaced). I held up on my end of the bargain, they did not on theirs. Additionally, they brought me the wrong set.

Maybe I am not explaining this clearly...
