Resistance bands..

Hello. I'd like to get some info and opinions from you concerning resistance bands.

First, are they just for girls or they are equally beneficial to men? I did some research and it looks like they are a great supplement/alternative to dumbells, plus they can be used to make pullups easier for those who are just starting out. (I'm struggling with doing more than one pullup atm, and doing negatives is quite annoying)

I was browsing through some websites hoping to buy myself a set of resistance bands to add diversity to my workouts, but either they are too crappy, and offer very low resistance, or they are very expensive... Does anyone know where I can buy a set for under $100 starting from like 15-20lbs and going up?

I have used bands in physiotherapy when recovering from injuries, and they work great for that. I have also used them to strengthen my ankles to prevent my ankles from rolling when I run.

Haven't used them for exercises needing a lot a resistance.

Wow... That's exactly what I was looking for! Thank you!
I am wondering if the regular assisted pullup set for $67.50 wil be enough for me in the beginning. do you know what is the resistance on those?

I know a guy that used to walk abound with weight bands around his ankles. It constantly strengthens your legs, you got to be careful how much weight you pull though. I think he had 2.5kg around each leg.

The strength band/jumpstretch bands that crt1530 linked to are very versatile and useful. Not those Nike resistance tubes that you see in most gyms...though those have some limited use as well.
