<< How about a fight to the death? I think Gore would win, unless they were in jets in which case Bush would win. >>

Do you mean based on Gore's veteran experience in Vietnam? What's he going to do, write about how he'd fight him? :D

Gore has some bulk on him, Bush looks like kind of a puny little guy. I think Gore would probably win in an NHB fight.

Yah, Bush kinda looks like the type of guy to just start crying right before that first punch hits him. Then he would just shrivle up into a fetal position.

Either that or he would just try to confuse Gore by spouting out mis-enunciated words. Fry Fram Foing do bill du! In case you Bush supporters couldn't understand that, here is my Bush translator "I am going to kill you!".

Skoorb,

Bitter? No. Disgusted? Yes. Bush won, Bore lost. It's as simple as that. Yet, Bore, while lying to the nation about supporting "the rule of law", has his operatives filing suit in a desperate attempt at a power grab. He's a real piece of work.

Russ, NCNE

Bushlite has not won yet. Besides, by my tally (popular vote), Bore won the election. Down with the Electoral College !!!!!

Would you be shouting about it if Bush had won the popular and not electoral. Somehow I doubt it.

Sleaze? The Democrats have a huge advantage there.

Why? One word. Bill Clinton.

Again, I'm from Arkansas, so I should now. We had him for longer than the rest of you did. Glad to get rid of him too!

Russ:

Apparently you value your political views more than the letter and spirit of the law. More power to you, I guess, but the idea that Gore "operatives" are the ones who initiated the Florida recount (which is required by state law) is laughable. The recount currently shows a difference of 370 votes! I think most people would agree that the extreme closeness of the vote warrants a recount just to be sure.

I think one way or another this election is going to heighten the acrimony between parties in Congress for at least the next four years. I think many voters will really take issue with the (Constitutionally-mandated) result that the popular-vote winner is in fact the loser (most likely, anyway), and the extremely even balance in the Senate is going to further complicate actually passing any legislation.

In any event, it appears that the Republicans will take over both the executive and legislative branches for at least the next two years. That makes the credit (and the blame) for federal accomplishments very easy to place. The proof is in the pudding, and the next set of Congressional elections in 2002 will reflect whether people are satisfied with the results.

i have an idea...how about....they declare a tie, and by some stroke of luck we have to run a new election, and no one that ran this time can run again..wouldn't that be nice...:)

I just hope all the Democrats who vote for the social programs and associated taxes by voting for Gore DO NOT cheat when paying taxes.

I have know many die-hard, bleeding heart, liberals, who cheat on their tax returns.

Do you all claim of your income?

You vote for the programs. Make sure you have the guts to pay for them.

Tee_Edwards,

Please show me where I said anything of the kind. I was referring to the lawsuit, not the recount. I'd suggest that, in the future, you actually read the posts before responding.

At least the winner will have a split Congress and it will be 4 and out.......;) We can survive 4 years of Gore or Bush with a ready made stalemate in congress. Maybe next election we will get a chance to vote for canidates that are worthy of the office.

I love it too.
This was my first time voting in an election and I'm proud I did it. No matter what the outcome is I'm happy with this election. It shows that people actually care.

joey1412

EDIT: Although, I did have a b!tch of a time voting.

If either canidate was that great, wouldnt there be a defined majority? In many states and as a nation as a whole and definitely in Florida, there is no defined majority. That must mean neither canidate benefits US too much. Or the alternative is one benefits half and the other benefits the other half of the country. In conclusion, the SHUX is true. We need to consolidate all parties into one so we can all agree that the person is great or is crap or we need to have more parties with larger media attention and monetary support so hopefully in a competive marker (not a conglamerote one) the consumers can choose the best product. And this choice should be able to be the best choice for a clear majority.
