There is a great article on CNN.com today about the reps blowing away any chance that they have at credibility... its a small one pager, but to sum it up... The point made is this. The republicans are crapping all over anything and everything Obama does - picking it apart with a fine-tooth comb, exaggerating the negative and ignoring the positive. How can the public take their complaints seriously about the economy, healthcare, war, or anythig else (most of which they DO have valid points to make) when they wont even give a positive word when one is obviously deserved, as in with the Pirate situation over the weekend.

I feel the same about the reps on this forum... Every day there are several new posts about something or other that Obama is doing with the exact same MO a the reps in congress... Crapping all over anything and everything Obama does - picking it apart with a fine-tooth comb, exaggerating the negative and ignoring the positive.
How is it they expect anyone, other than other reps to take them seriously? If all you do is spout out negative, people tend to stop listening and rule out your opinion alltogether.

Here's the problem: If Republicans can't allow that the president did his job well in this unambiguous case, why should we believe their complaints about anything else? If they can't pat him on the back for this one, why should we even listen to their arguments about the budget, about health care, about energy? If Republicans want Americans to see their arguments as credible -- as they may well be -- they need to present themselves as the credible opposition.
