Dude, fuck Benghazi. Move on. Nobody cares but you fringe right-wing whack jobs. My best friend listens to Fox radio all day while he works and guess what he brought up when we started talking politics...fucking Benghazi. It's not a good look for you to hang on to such a minor event so tightly.

In a time where the Patriot Act is still alive, our 2nd Amendment rights are being threatened, and we're still fighting a war against a nation that had almost nothing to do with the supposed "attack" on our country; you'd think you guys would have better things to talk about than a few guys getting shot to pieces in a Middle Eastern country.

Yes, it was a horrible tragedy but, just as an example, the thread about the 20 kids who got slaughtered is already gone from the front page of the forum. Yet here is your stupid little Benghazi bullshit thread, wasting space. Wake up! You care more about revenge against some brown people in the Oval Office and in Banghazi than you do about the media using the Newtown shooting as a platform to strip our 2nd Amendment rights.

I mean seriously, who the fuck are you people?

My bad, I didn't realize that by talking about one thing we were unable to talk about anything else.

Like 30 seconds.

But please though, let me know what topics of discussion are worthy in your eyes.

It's not about my eyes, it's about the entire nation. Other than the 10% of the country that is on the right wing fringe nobody is even talking about this anymore. It is a non issue. Let it go.

Go defend our 2nd Amendment rights from the gun grabbers if you want to do something useful.

Well, yeh, but Obama is teh Ebil One & AR15 clones are the ultimate fashion accessory, a gift from God... Every American adult should be required to have one locked & loaded at all times. It'd stim-uh-late the 'conomy!

State Department is resigning in droves. Hilary's presidential hopes are CRUSHED.

Obama's lack of knowledge of Foreign Policy, or his blatant disregard of the Middle East, can't be covered up much longer.

-John
I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that Hillary's chances of becoming POTUS (Heaven forbid!) will be largely unaffected since she's been adamant in distancing herself from the lies all along. I'm also going to speculate that Obama's political capital is not going to take much of a hit; in fact, I'd be surprised if the Pubbies don't take more of a political hit than does Obama.

This is a simple fuck-up followed by a politically motivated lie. It's sad and distressing that Americans died as a result - although there's no guarantee that had proper security been provided, Americans would not have died - but that happens in the big leagues. The simple fact is that these mistakes happen, people die, and politicians lie to avoid the political fall-out. None of that makes this more than a minor scandal. I'm sure one could find occasions where Bush took decisions that in hindsight look foolish, costing American lives, and then picked the most politically expedient explanation knowing it wasn't true. (Indeed, the left maintains this describes the whole Iraq war, and the far left includes the Afghanistan war.) If the entire Bush-hating leftist mainstream media could not significantly damage Bush over these things, it's for certain that the small right-wing portion of the media cannot significantly damage Obama.

Presidential decisions always involve weighing many factors and concerns, no matter how simple they may seem to us (especially in hindsight), and a honest mistake combined with dishonest dissembling (and let's be honest, this is a fairly mild lie by D.C. standards) simply doesn't make a scandal. I have no problem with us discussing it endlessly, but the Congressional Pubbies seriously need to move on. They can never convince the left that Obama isn't an innocent here, they cannot convince most people that this rises to a serious offense, and whether or not a Republican Presidential candidate would have done better is a moot point.

You're almost making sense, other than the false equivalencies, pure conjectures, apologisms & strawmen.

Good talking points . But this was a bigger crime than watergate was. Where is the Demonic fairness they all talk about but avoid at all cost . Name one law thar Dems passed that works for the majority and not minorities. 3 guys walk into job interview 1 black 1 hispanic 1 white . Of the 3 people the white in this case is better qualified for the job . But because of retard liberial laws One of the 2 minorities has to be hired . It use to be the black person that got the job . Now it will go to the hispanic since they now the largest minority . So now they need to amend the law so that 3 minorities get hired to one majority.

Today they want us to believe that the rule of law is all god like . Thats all wrong . This is a gooberment for the people by the people. Where the majority is RULE OF LAW not minorities. As long as the demonic party stand behind what it stand behind . The only thing this country has to look forward to is a 3rd world economy. I can't believe the number of white people who have given up and have joined in the welfare state . I guess if you can't beat them join them . I know A few welfare types who get there rent paid bills paid and food stamps and manage to bring in around a $1000 a week off the books. I have to admitt if I was forty again . I would likely do the same thing now that I see how it all works . Honesty is for the suckers. You want to live better life you are allowed to sink to the level of the people who makle our laws their treasonious so why should we the people be any differant than fearful leader.

Where, specifically, is the crime? It can't be simply lying to the American people, else Obama would be the 344th President.

Where, specifically, is the crime? -snip-

Hypothetical question: If we (CIA and State Dept) were confiscating SAMs from Libya and covertly sending them to anti al-Assad factions in Syria via Turkey would that be a crime?

What if the anti al-Assad faction was officially considered a terrorist organization by us or the UN?

Repeat - totally hypothetical question.

You're only saying that because of racism. :-D

The Right already got what they wanted - Rice is out as SOS and Scott Brown has a chance of getting back into the senate.

No one on the right gave a rat's ass about Rice or Petraeus, those were just people in the Obama Administration that got tossed under the bus in an attempt to distract the media and partisan Democrats. It really only worked on partisan Democrats.

Partisan Democrats such as Senators McCain and Graham?

I'm amazed to see this thread still going. I'm so touched that Republicans are suddenly so concerned about this country's foreign service. 'Course, you would never know it by the way they consistently want to cut the budget of anything related to the United States' foreign relations that doesn't involve the use of military hardware.

That's sufficiently non-obvious to a layman like myself that I'd have to defer to lawyers. I'd bet money that it's happened before though. Too many times there isn't a good side and a bad side, just a very bad side and a perhaps marginally less bad side. And screw the UN, who thinks Syria, Cuba and Iran are perfectly qualified to chair its human rights committee. I care no more for their listing than for those of - well, Syria, Cuba and Iran. If they were on the USA's terrorist list I'd be bothered and it might well be a crime, but honestly, I expect both factions in any Middle Eastern Islamic struggle to be sponsors of terrorism. Allah demands no less.

I generally prefer that we not choose sides when a rat is fighting a snake, but I do realize that sometimes one or the other can be notably more dangerous to us and our allies. I do wish we'd take a longer view though; if the rat carries black plague, that snake bite might not be as bad as we fear, all things considered.

It fits right in with the rest of the "totally hypothetical" conspiracy theories surrounding the Benghazi incident, yes.

Reminds me of the sounds of a raving drunk in the back of the wagon pulling away slowly down the street...

Buh-bye now. Have a nice day.

I wonder if there was a version of you making the same argument about Iran-Contra?

Poor Fern, post-wingnut conversation he's really gone downhill. Can't even admit now easily confirmable bullshit statements he made about the admin lying.
