Pohemi420,
I am a Democrat. Period. Not a Liberal. Just a Dem.
I believe all are equal, have a right to live, have a right to be educated and that everyone's history should be told, not ignored or hidden. No one should be discriminated against because of their national origin, race, religion, ethnic background or gender.
We've already seen what happens when Hate leads to a false belief that some are less than human or simply unworthy of life. How many more genocides do we need to witness or learn about before all of us grasp this?
Critical Race Theory is a premise that posits skin color and race determine the outcomes of most decisions, laws and behavior in the U.S. That's all it is. A theory.
It is actually an elective law course taught only at the university level. In law schools. And yes, it has been around for just over 40 years.
But History, or what some prefer to call Herstory, is a set of true facts and events.
And Black History in this country is part of U.S. History, whether you like or not. So is Women's History, if it pertains to events in the U.S.
It this what you are upset about?
I never agreed with "Defund the Police" or marched with Black Lives Matter matter. When you block traffic without authorization, you may be delaying emergency services, parents who need to drop off or pick up children, enraging motorists and generally pissing off all who may just want to cross a street.
But make no mistake. I was enraged over the unjustified murder of George Floyd. So I vented on social media and will continue to do.
I will also rail over the inequities of our justice system, the disparity in health and mental care and a seeming automatic dismissal of Black Thought, Black Achievement and Black Excellence.
No one is perfect. And there is a lot wrong on our planet. One race, one country and one region is not to blame for all the ills.
This is discussion group. Not a death match.
