Some Republican states have already banned some of the history of MLK and removed requirements that the KKK were morally wrong. Odd thing since GOP is supposedly the party of morality (haha)

Now the tactic is to label anything written by black authors or black historical figures they don't like as CRT and just have it banned.

So I read New Kid, and I can see why it won the Newbery Medal. The only way you could construe it was teaching CRT is if you have no idea what CRT is (which I'm sure is the case with the people behind the complaints).

While I agree the slogan is lacking in clarity, I am growing weary of progressives being targeted for their lack of thought with how to brand things. It reminds me of how we as a society continue to blame women for being sexually assaulted. Instead of blaming progressives for not being careful enough with their marketing of solutions, how about instead we blame the racists that caused the problem in the first place.

Why is "Critical Race Theory" poorly named? The theory wasn't developed for political purposes, but for academic purposes (at the graduate level).

Progressives never hinted it was going to be shoved down anyone's throats except for graduate students that signed up for the class, let alone school children. The right that hijacked the term and created a boogeyman out of it. They are now using it as a smokescreen to try to ban the teaching of the Civil Rights movement and related events, along with any other history relating to race in our country that they find inconvenient.

Why do you separate yourselves? If you don't want to be Democrats, then split off and form your own party. There's a Socialist Democratic Party you can join. I'm always pushing back against Blacks who want to start their own party.

Critical race theory literally is a theory taught in graduate level classes, and has been for over 10 years. Research topics before you post about them.

As usual you are wrong. I didn't vote for Bernie, did not vote in the primaries in 2016, I voted for Hilary in 2016 in the general, and for Warren in the 2020 primary, and Biden in the general. I think Bernie is great and exposes a lot that is wrong with the system here, but as I told the Bernie supporters I know, I don't think he can win a general and he is not dynamic enough to get things done as president.

I agree with you generally but I don’t think the issue with critical race theory was that it wasn’t pitched right. The reason it became an issue is that conservative media was looking for an issue and made it one.
