Nope, if Republicans come back in power, it will have very little to do with the differences between the parties. Most of the times elections are a vote on the state of the economy. The presidential incumbent party loses when the economy is bad. Incumbents win when the economy is good. It's not about ideas. Obama won in the first place because the economy was bad.

Another factor is that whenever a party is in total control they go extreme and piss people off.

Partisans on both sides of this debate are both pathetic. Republican hacks think that somehow they're worldview will be approved. Democratic partisans will blame dirty politics by Republicans. They're all missing the point.

You don't think there's a polling result difference between what should be happening, people realizing that the Democratic administration and Congress are trying to fix the economy but it's not enough, and what is happening, Republicans convincing sheeple that stimulus isn't a valid concept, that we need to get rid of deficit spending during a recession, and that Obama is a secret Muslim socializing the country?

Correction, people ARE seeing exactly what's happening and that it's time to put a stop to it. It's not that no (or insufficient) steps are being taken, it's that the steps taken are in the wrong direction. Now it's time to boot those responsible out of office.

Stop him from what? Holding office until 2017? Good luck with that.

Nothing is written in stone. It all depends if the Reps put a George Will or a Sarah Palin up for office. It will probably be the latter, but we don't know.

Nope. People don't worry about the details like that. In their minds, the economy is bad, it's the president's fault, and they might as well vote for a new direction.

The thing that cracks me up the most is that Republicans are most terrified of those that are politically most closely aligned with them. The only difference between current republicans and terrorist Muslim extremists is which book they choose to follow. The right has gone so far right that they've lost the ability to reason. In a sane society people like Spidey or Glenn Beck would be denounced as crazy. I figure spidey is one of those guys on a street corner with a sign screaming that "the end is nigh".

I've never agreed with the politics of the right. In the last 2-4 years however the right has gone and become the stupidest fucking group of retarded jackasses the US has ever unfortunately vomited up. I'm scared of how many stupid fuck-ups they'll make to bankrupt us and how many wars they'll start if they somehow get power again. There is nothing that could possibly be worse for this country than to let Republicans back in power.

Polls only serve to show how ignorant the American public is. They have no idea how good or bad Republicans are. All they know is theres a Democrat in the White House now, and things arent spectacular. Never mind the current mess may have been caused by the Republican before him or the Democrat before HIM. Or that the problems really arent caused or fixed by presidents.

These days the presidents primary duty is to serve as a focus for ignorant, angry outrage.

To that end, I only pay attention to polls when I'm curious as to Americas current anger.

November is going to be especially hard for you. Right now a large majority of the country thinks we're headed in the wrong direction. Every time liberals try to push this country to the left, this country says HELL NO. It's a center right country.

Because at it's core, the leftists ideology is against American values and beliefs (you can see this in Obama's apology tours, you see it when the mexican president is applauded as he rails about how bad American policy is). It is a direct afront to what our nation was built on and stands for.

All the republicans and democrats are corrupted and owned by their corporate sponsors. Pretty much no hope in either party.

The only thing in the Constitution that the right actually supports is the Second Amendment. Everything else they hate with a passion. Freedom of speech, hate it. Freedom of religion, only if you're Christian. Protection from illegal search and seizure, not once someone uses the word terrorism. Equal rights and privilege, not if you're Muslim, poor, gay, or not white.

The left is the only group fighting FOR the American ideal and the Constitution. Why does the right hate the ACLU so much when it's entire purpose is to protect the Bill of Rights?

That is complete and utter non-sense. One of the foundations of the GOP is adherence and protection of The Constitution. You're quite simply not living in reality and have created a separate one from your mind.

It's a slogan that they use, but I'm hard pressed to find any evidence that it's a guiding principle in any of their actions...

And it was true when the GOP was founded and was the party of Lincoln. However, in the last 40-50 years the GOP has shifted from being the liberal party to being the conservative party, and vice-versa for the Democrats. The same people that voted for the anti civil rights Democrats are now voting for Republicans. If Lincoln were alive today he'd be a Democrat because the GOP is not the party it was when he was around.

The tidal wave of We The People is coming. You can feel it. You can sense the motivation. The time is almost here. The day we take our country back and stop Obama. It's almost here. Ready yourself patriots.
This is true; nothing like the Tea Party has emerged in a long time. But it's not just Obama - it's that both parties are the same shit (big government, packs of lies, corruption). The government needs to be hacked and slashed before it gets too extreme.

Then why are most if not all the Tea Party candidates republican when you claim they are as much to blame as the dems? Or are these candidates somehow different?

Ready for the election. Talk to family members and friends. Make sure they are registered to vote and get excited about stopping what Obama is doing. Reach out to complete strangers who may be bitching about the economy and reminding them "make sure you're registered to vote, with our vote we CAN stop Obama".

Donate to any candidate who can defeat the most dangerous liberals even if they are not in your state or district, etc. Volunteer for your local senate ahd house reps. Go door to door and inform neighbors about the candidates and why Obama MUST be stopped.

Keep the motivation and tidal wave coming. That's what I mean by ready yourself patriots, do your duty to stop this administration, it's our only hope as a nation which lies in the balance on November 2, 2010.

Yeah right, meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Uh, I don't think you should be accusing other of that. Then again, takes one to know one ...

Polls lol...

Americans are to dumbed to be polled. I gotta say though you Republicans better figure something out quick and not blow your wad this early in the game. Reps been flying high this summer and through the primaries. Except they confuse those victories with the reality that all it was is cannibalism of Republicans by the Tea Party.

The 2010 election will be about one thing, and one thing only: The current state of the economy. Only the omniscient right-wing trolls on these forums "know" that Obama is responsible for the economic mess we're in. Only the omniscient right-wing trolls "know" that we would currently be experiencing 5% GDP growth and 4% unemployment if only the policies they advocate had instead been followed.

It's a shame we don't have parallel universes to provide blowhard righties with the opportunity to prove the worthlessness of their economic theories.

We all know it all started with Clintons last few bills give it up, It wasn't Bush that created the housing Bubble that was Clintons work. Just that Bush was president when it Burst. Say what you want about bush . He had no where near the debt Obama has created and its all been FAIL.
