You god damn Democrat cheerleaders who throw a fit any time the party is criticized. If you gave a shit about people suffering from the shutdown why didn't you call on them to fold on Day 1? What was the point of dragging it out if they were just going to give up without any concession? The failure is not adhering to the world FDR setup for Dems to promote and grow. Democrats want to make a better world for people who need our help. Republicans see a successful businessman and say he should get all the help he needs.
I would love the world to see that social democracy is the human path to governing, You can only push a rope so far. We still have not worked nearly hard enough to fix the original sins of this country. Firstly, the legacy of slavery, and the Jim Crowe period, and pervasive poverty.

Agreed with the first sentence, but I would change your second sentence to "Democrats wanted to make a better world for people who need our help." I hate that right wing Clinton has become the mold for most of the senior DNC but they took the lesson that neoliberalism wins because Clinton lucked into having Perot play spoiler to Bush in 92. Not trying to say the parties are the same, as post tea party the GOP has become psychotic, but the DNC looks a lot like the 1990s GOP and that doesn't excite the base at all.

So what was the point of dragging the shutdown out 40+ days and making the American people suffer if the GQP was never going to change their position? Why aren't you mad the democrats didn't cave on Day 1?

You want the benefits dems give.. you have to sign a contract that requires you to show up and vote for dems! And benefits should be dependent on if they carried through.

The Dems voted No in order to not strip healthcare from millions of Americans, and were open to negotiations in order to avert a shutdown. The repugs basically said 'let us be cruel, or go fuck yourself,' then left town. For weeks. Schumer offered a deal to open the government with a one year extension plan on the ACA coverage and they laughed. Repugs blocked the use of funds already set aside to keep SNAP running in the event of a shutdown. When the courts said use them, Trump said 'we can do half.' When the courts said 'stop fucking around, kids are going hungry -use the damn funds' Trump appealed, to again make Americans go hungry over politics.

There is a variety of context involved in what just happened, it's not as simple as just X did this, Y did this. You should include intent in your evaluation of what went down. That a handful of Dems (and Angus *spit*) not up for re election sold out like chumps doesn't alter or negate the GQP's cruelty. If anything it will be emboldened. Case in point, senile Cadet Bonespurs is about to attack Venezuela to draw attention away from the Epstein releases. That will be his replacement for the delay he got with setting the table for a government shut down. He's already killing brown people in boats to eat up air time, what's a few hundred more?

You blame who you want I guess. To me though, complaining about Dems right now gives me a mental image of a stricken Titanic. Bow down, stern up, and cold people on the decks waiting their turn, complaining about the food.
