I guess those "blue states" don't have any Republican lawmakers in those states. Great move, Russ Great opportunity for the blue states to stop sending their tax dollars to Washington - which subside the red states. Those 16 states are 39% of the US population 47% of US GDP.

This clown Vought claims it's "Green New Deal" funding, but the funds actually came from an infrastructure bill passed four years ago. No piece of legislation called the "Green New Deal" has ever been passed, nor has any aspects of it. Dumbass.

Those projects are being built with union labor. Many of these workers voted for Trump and the Republicans. And we all know how pro union Trump and Project 2025 is. slap in the face. Idiocracy.

Such feelings are understandable given that's what Republican farmers are in the most part, I suspect, willing to go along with. But they are told they are being robbed to support worthless urban welfare queens, etc. And owing to elect-ability issues, like a need for corporate money to be elected Democrats can't fully fund all political issues and have to try for rational compromises which by the way make few people happy.

In my opinion proper governance isn't a walk in the park and taking one side over the other furthers divisions. Republicans are now supporting sending troops into Democratic cities. They weren't happy with just siphoning away funds. In order to end such insanity at the top will require some of the farm vote. Hate makes people deaf. So you are shooting yourself in the foot, in my opinion.

I was watching the news this afternoon and the CNN host confronted Schumer over his stance today vs back in March when he said that policy differences should not be used to shutdown the government.

Honestly I can't support either party which is why I no longer have a party affiliation. And to be fair the last and longest government shutdown did occur on the orange watch.

Say what you will about the lackluster messaging coming from party leaders but the strategy of picking the fight over ACA subsidies is sound (and apparently politically successful so far). Given this a Democratic cave would not seem to be on the horizon so Trump will probably do increasingly unpopular things to try to get them to move. Failing that he'll force Senate Rs to go nuclear ensuring the worst outcome for voters.
